Traveling on a budget around the world I found Moonshadow on my way from Thailand to Malaysia first time in may 2018 in the border town Sungai Kolok. The Hotel and restaurant is run by the fabulous Pom. She is an amazing host and was very eager to show and explain nearby sights and attractions. Sungai Kolok has a bad image for tourism but she proofed the opposite! Ask for the waterfall and the big tree and she will be happy to share her recommendations and more. The rooms are good for the price and the restaurant has very good food for a reasonable price... Now it is August and I went back to Moonshine to continue to explore the area by bicycle, motorbike and with a tour. I love that there is almost no touristic infrastructure compared to the rest of Thailand. Great to be able to explore without meeting lonely planet travelers ;) Totally recommended!!
