Saifon Guesthouse

Very good hostel, very good vibes, amazing people, very good food. Perfect location, just near to the train station, you can rent good motorbike for good price. Cheap rooms, good for this price, clean, good bed, fan or aircond (option) And a very good vibes <3 I recommend this hostel :-)

The place is steps from the Ayutthaya train station. Yet, there is no hot water for the shower, or TV in the room — not even a chair to sit in. (That they “forgot” to provide a blanket, towels, soap, and toilet paper can be discounted as an one-off incident.) The air cond works — thank Heaven. Good folks: there are better places equally close to the station. Avoid this one !

We stayed here one night because we arrived a day early in Ayutthaya and the guesthouse we’d booked was full. The staff at Saifon were perfectly nice and the lady was very helpful with showing us places on the map. We did not see any agression from her as suggested by other reviews. The food was also quite acceptable although make sure you have insect repellent because I got 50 bites on my legs (no exaggeration!). The room itself was a decent size and looked clean initially. The bedding was definitely clean which is the main thing. The drain in the bathroom was blocked and there was scum all around the drain from slow draining water. The shower was cold and there was no toilet roll, as others have said. This was manageable for one night. Our main complaint was the fan. It was the noisiest fan we have ever come across and I could not sleep with it on, even with earplugs. The curtains did not stretch across the whole window and got blown around by the fan anyway so were pretty useless. It was the longest, stickiest night of our whole trip so far. If you have to stay here, get an AC room. The next morning we found hair that definitely did not belong to either of us that we hadn’t noticed the night before. Aside from the restaurant area, the whole place just looks quite rundown.

When we came to guest house owner was very nice and friendly. That's why we deside to stay there. After we pay the room, she was not that nice at all. Room was fine (for 300 bath) but a bit dirty. The biggest problem were locked doors. Guest house's doors were locked after 9 pm. After that we could not go outside. We think that was too early. One good thing was very good scooter what we rent for 150 bath/day.

It is very close to the train station. Just walk out of the front and go down the soi in front of you. It's about halfway down the soi. The stairs are narrow, not handy if you have a lot of luggage. The room is simple but was clean. The wifi worked (I uploaded a picture of the wifi password, beginning withan S. The bed was fine. I could see the river from my room. I had only 2 problems, 1) there was no toilet roll supllied (fortunately I read a review and brought my own). 2) The shower had only cold water
