As other reviews stated, the check in was dismal. There is generally not a welcome but as I learned, it took four days to finally be welcomed with a hi. I booked a beach view and when arrived, it was booked so I had no choice but to take the back row garden bungalow. Over christmas, you don’t have a choice and just rolled with it.
Now, a bamboo bungalow with outdoor bathroom sounds fun but know that means you are dealing with bugs, fan only rooms and basic accomodations. If there is no wind, the mosquitoes are out, not just here but on the entire island. Bring lots of bug spray. I bought mosquito coils for the bathroom.
The mattress is on the bamboo floor and does have a mosquito net but I still got bit.
The wifi works well out at the dive shop. In the back row, I kept picking up the neighbours network. So I went over, had a drink and took a picture of their wifi codes.
The front porch was nice to read and relax out of the sun.
Sunrise beach, imo, is the best one on the island and you are 10 seconds from it here. it is stunning, white sand, blue water and not crowded. I walked to sunsetbeach from Satun and then into walking street. Pattaya beach is the main one you arrive and is far busier.
I did dive with Satun and this is where they are great. Didi was wonderful and it was a great pace, good gear and was a fantastic day under the water.
I paid christmas prices and did not feel the value was there as I did not receive what I booked. I would stay for two nights max, then head to an air con space to regroup.
