The Lake Udon

New Hotel on the edge of Nong prajak park and lake. So great environment a little away from the city centre. Hotel has car parking spaces and a lift. Rooms fine, clean and en suite. You can get breakfast for 90 baht in the top floor restaurant which has great views. Problem free stay, all staff very courteous. Great value !

This small hotel is truly lovely, both premise and staff. Breakfast is not much choice but simply good. Visit Roof deck to see the view of the surrounding lake. Really good value if you looking for cozy hotel with friendly service.

Well, I go to Udon Thani quite a lot. But, you see, I stay at a number of different hotels. Over the past ten years, several hotels have popped up. This is one of the best ones, if not, the most chill one in the city. Why? Well, as people have mentioned, it has the 360 degree view. That's lovely just to go up and read, especially at night, when it's nice and cool outside. You can see people jogging, the big pond, and enjoy the sunlights of Udon Thani. Also, the rooms -- some people have complained about the thin walls. Well, in Udon Thani, all hotels have relatively thin walls. Welcome to Thailand. People have also complained about the showers. Well, if you have ever gone anywhere that has one of those water heaters that are quite small, that's next to where the shower water head, then you'd realise that's just the way it is. Believe me, I've been to the expensive ones and I've been to the cheap ones, they all have that kind of generator. There are no central boilers in Udon Thani's hotel scene (for one, no one has a basement due to the kind of soil is simply too watery to let that happen, as the building would begin to sink). It's also hard to have a boiler on the top of the building, because, during the summer it might overheat. But what is important? The air conditioning is great. Top model. One of the best you can possibly buy. The breakfast is lovely. The bed is really nice. It's a very reasonable price. It's in a quiet area (believe me, even the best hotels have bars and discos behind them in Udon, this is by far one of the quietest in the city). So, overall, I highly recommend it! 5 stars!

The saddest thing about The Lake Udon is that I really liked it....except that it was very tough to sleep there because the rooms were so noisy. Anyhow, let's go with the positives first: - incredibly friendly and helpful staff that helps to call places, arrange cars, etc. Such nice people! - great location next to the lake. And the lake is a wonderful place, especially in the evening. You can stroll in the park, go jogging around the lake, get food or coffee at the chic places around, and have massages. Absolutely a lovely area. Even at night, you can walk a bit to go for food - a very hipster & chill cafe/work space situated right next door The not so good... - ants in the room - very, very loud inside the room - from the cars outside to the neighboring guests, you hear everything, which makes it hard to sleep - the shower was not great - it was very hard to get the water warm, and especially in the morning. Taking cold showers at 6am wasn't ideal... Super sorry to the lovely staff of the hotel! I really would love to at least give it 4 stars, but I just didn't sleep well there....

This is a really lovely hotel, great rooms, super comfortable and with a fabulous roof terrace for breakfast or just enjoying the view of the lake. The staff are lovely and there are some good eateries nearby. We really enjoyed staying here and it's very reasonably priced! A great option for Udon Thani!
