If it was not precisely as we wanted it, they certainly did their utmost to make sure everything was too our liking. Good service I am happy to say I find often, but Oia Pai did it a little better. The place isn’t perfect, but the staff is. And the place is quite Nice too, not to say lovely. We had a great room. Plenty of space for 4. If we are ever near Pai again, we will stop by the Oia Village. Thank you.

Fantastic. The room we had was very comfortable with a charming balcony over the central canal. The staff were incredibly helpful both within the hotel and in arranging external activities. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I go to Pai.

The breakfast was the best breakfast spread we had in our 3 week trip all around Thailand. The room was spotlessly clean, and we loved the bathtub on the deck. The staff was super friendly and remembered our names, even though we were only there for two days. They have a free shuttle system that was quick and easy to use around town. We loved the quirky layout and amenities of the Oia Pai property - feed the sheep after breakfast? Sure! The views of the mountains were breathtaking. We hired one of the hotel staff as a guide for the day, and he expertly drove us to the bamboo bridge, strawberry spot, and hot springs. We loved this spot - it felt like a version of Disneyland!

Well this accommodation is just out of the city centre not to far a drive. Very quite currently due to the C-19 situation. Positives - room were spacious and very clean with room service daily. Bathroom was filled with all the necessities one would need. Aircon great Linen seemed new and crisp. Pool area clean, provision of thick towels provided. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very filling and prepared in front of us so everything very fresh. Con’s - I would not class this as a resort and looking a little old in ares. Due to the timing the boats don’t pull up to the front of your room with fresh fruit however, had with breakfast. A number of workmen around as a great deal of work being done to freshen up the establishment but, not a huge issues for us. I would recommend taking your washing else where if price is an issue. As it is much cheaper in town and a number of laundry’s can be found.

Whoever dreamed of the concept here is very creative. It’s just a shame that their vision has been so terribly executed. We came to Pai to relax. Maybe I’m crazy, but for me this means being able to sleep in my own room, especially when I’m paying around USD150 a night. 1. Noise reverberates throughout the entire complex. As I write this now at nearly 11pm from my room, I can hear every single word spoken by the only two men at the bar. Up until 10pm I was introduced to the wonders of French Gangster rap from the portable speakers of one of my neighbors. I had to call reception and ask them to do something about it before it was turned off. There is an artificial ‘lake’ of sorts in front of all the lower level rooms with kayaks for guests to float about. Very cool idea. The previous night I watched in amazement as 5 children and a parent paddled around at 9:30pm for 20 minutes or so yelling at their relatives on the ‘shore’. At 11pm the kids were in the room screaming and running in circles while 5 parents sat outside drinking whiskey and having a party. I asked them to be quiet. They said sure. I called reception. No one answered. 30 minutes later it’s even louder. I asked them to stop and called reception. No one answered. They told me they would be done soon. Around 1am they decided to call it a night and I was able to sleep. Obnoxious guests aside, the design and building materials mean that you will hear your neighbors come and go and walk around and do other things... This is all made especially ironic by the fact that in every room there is a sign that says that any loud noise past 8pm will not be tolerated and will incur a fine of 1,000 Baht! In 20 years in Thailand I have never seen such a thing and initially I thought that they must really want to ensure a quiet environment for their guests. But clearly they don’t care, which brings me to my next point. 2. There doesn’t appear to be a real General Manager or any kind of security or staff who would proactively understand that guests were keeping awake the entire resort and ask them to be quiet or leave. 3. The resort grounds are quite large, but the space is just not utilized correctly and the materials are cheap and look worn. There needs to be a complete overhaul to the landscaping. 4. The rooms are large, but design is odd and could be so much better. Our room has no curtain on one window, partial lace curtains on another and thin cotton curtains on another. It’s basically bright here in the middle of the night and you’ll wake with the sun rise. The bathroom is huge, but there is a lot of empty space - like an entire room with a bench and mirror - and then a big private plunge pool. It could be so cool, but instead it’s murky water that isn’t circulating and that you’d never want to swim in. As a hot Jacuzzi, it would be amazing. The pool area is super dangerous for kids the way the steps are designed with no railings and well it’s hard to describe, but it just feels cheap. Breakfast is very standard and again the space is odd and just doesn’t have a cozy or quality feel to it. Some rooms have regular TVs with no English. Others have Netflix capability if you have an account and know how to pair it with your phone. Why not make Smart TVs standard? On the bright side, the staff are super friendly - they just aren’t proactive at all and don’t appear to have a leader. When I complained about the noise tonight, they told me they felt bad and that many people had complained about the different noise the night before. Ok great - so why didn’t any staff go and tell the guests to end the party especially when the signs in every room claim there will be a 1,000 Baht fine for loud noise after 8pm?!? If I was 20 years old and hanging out with friends and they charged 1,000 Baht a night, I wouldn’t complain. But I’m in my forties and here with the family and young children and am looking to relax. And I’m paying enough for a luxury hotel in Bangkok or nearby Chiang Mai. With an investment of a couple million dollars the entire place could be shut down, refurbished and open under new management. They could charge double the current price and it would be really special. As it is, I can’t take waiting til the last guest has decided to sleep before I can sleep. We’ve booked another hotel and will be checking out one day early to spend our last day somewhere quiet. Won’t be coming back til they do a massive renovation and put the hotel under real management such as Accor, Starwood etc.
