I stayed at Werot Resort for a business trip and was very happy with my accommodation. The rooms are pretty much like they look on the pictures. They were spotlessly clean and although the toilet didn't flush at first, staff was very helpful and fixed it within an hour of my arrival.
There's nothing I can really complain about: There was a bottle of water waiting for me on arrival, the room was spotlessly clean, had modern furniture in it and was actually dirt cheap. The internet was INCREDIBLY fast unless it was raining and I was literally blown away by it. I up- and downloaded pretty huge amount files and had a constant connection of several Mbps, so I really can't complain.
The only downside for an international traveller might be that staff doesn't speak a single word of English. However, sign language did the job and I didn't feel like this had a negative impact on my stay at all.
The 'resort' - which I'd rather describe as a motel - is a bit outside of Mae Sot but you can easily walk into town - even in Thai summer heat. If you don't feel like doing that: The highway is only about 50 meters away and you can easily hail a taxi or motorbike off the street to take you wherever you'd like to go. That being said: You can't really hear the highway and my room at the hotel was super quiet. I probably had one of the best nights sleeps I've ever had in Thailand there.
The bus station was only about 10 minutes by bike. There's a few local corner stores just around the hotel and once you start walking towards the town center, you'll find plenty of 711s and the like.
I didn't find any amazing food options just around the hotel, but if you're willing to walk 15 or 20 minutes, you'll have heaps of options. (don't expect anything non-Thai or non-Burmese though, unless you're willing to walk all the way down to the Canadian run restaurant)
To sum it up: I didn't have high expectations but I'd happily go back there, if I ever end up in this corner of Thailand again.
