Can't say it was worth it. I had an awful experience with the room service, who took the tips but couldn't either change the towels or at least bring me some shower gel and shampoo. It took me eventually 2 days, numerous requests and spoiled mood to obtain what is supposed to be provided by default. The meals were edible, though almost the same every day, not quite fresh and in modest amounts, and in the evening there were long lines for food and smoke from barbecue. Water in the bottles was not included in the all-inclusive (what's the point?). Wi-Fi was available only in the lobby and occasionally disappeared, the elevator was broken when I arrived, the balcony door could be barely closed, and there were not enough sun loungers for everybody. On the good side, the pool was nice, as well as the bar parlour, the room was spacious and the TV is new (only Tunisian channels and deposit of 10TND for remote), the interior design is more or less original.

I have stayed at The Byblos a few times & have always found the staff to be friendly & hard working, nothing is too much trouble. The pool is fab, especially the waterfall tunnel! Rooms are basic, but comfortable & clean - anyway who goes on holiday just to sit in a hotel room? The food is generally good, my favourite has to be the fig jam at breakfast & Tunisian dishes in the evening. If you are looking for a snack outside the hotel then the place next door does great pizza or try the chapti shop up the road which is amazing & full of locals. The one thing missing from this hotel is traditional mint tea, which given the chance I'd drink all day! I would recommend the Byblos to anyone looking for a good value hotel in Tunisia. Look forward to visiting again soon

We have just visited this horrendous place (literally 1hr ago) and were charged the equivalent of £9 for 2 bottles of the local beer, that we were charged £1.50 (£3 for 2) at a bar earlier today in the local area, JUST BECAUSE WE WERE BRITISH. Absolute scumbag place, I’d encourage all British people to NEVER VISIT. Absolute joke of a venue and the staff were extremely rude.

This is a lovely hotel with excellent staff who always provide us with good service. The hotel is not too big and has some very nice features, particularly the pool, which is an interesting shape and a very good size. The rooms are spacious and the hotel also offers some nice suites with a seperate sitting room. The only thing I would suggest is that they could do with some extra coat hangers in the wardrobe! The food is generally very good with lots of local specialities which we always appreciate. There are retaurants and some very nice coffee shops nearby but the hotel is well away from the busy centre of Hammamet though it can be reached easily by taxi and is worth a visit - particulary the traditional coffee shop in the old fort overlooking the sea. in all we had a most enjoyable holiday and we would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff, including the happy waiters and cleaners as well as the cheeky maintenance man! It is just a shame that Brits, and others, generally seem to be staying away following the revolution 2 years ago. we have had numerous trips to Tunisia since and can honestly say that, apart from the drop in tourism, we have seen no other advserse effects after the revolution.
