This is a venerable and spacious farmhouse, pleasantly furnished with character. It has an embracing sense of peace, beautifully located by a wide green field and beyond that Loch Etive. Yet it is the hosts who leave you with warm memories of the place. It's not just "Hello, here's your room, hope you enjoy your stay." Quite simply, Sian and her husband identify the varying desires and needs of individual guests, and then do whatever it takes to fulfill them. Sian gave my guide and me a most special welcome, lingered with us over coffee, then prepared a scrumptious dinner at our request. She didn't have to do any of these things, but was genuinely happy to do them anyway. So the least I can do is write a positive review for hosts who overwhelmingly deserve it.

We (two adults) spent two nights at Blarcreen House and are very happy with our stay. We were greeted and welcomed on arrival, checked in and shown to our room (The Henderson Room). It was a lovely spacious room with a King size 4 poster bed and Ensuite . Wonderful views and a very calming and relaxed atmosphere.
Sleeping was fantastic for us both as we found the bed very comfortable. (as well as the silence and darkness of the countryside).
Breakfast was fantastic on both mornings of our stay, well prepared, well presented, more than enough and tasted so delicious. (my wife is gluten intolerant and with prior notification during booking, there was a lot more options for her to choose from on the menu. Thank you)
Overall a truly fantastic stay with our lovely hosts at Blarcreen House and we shall definitely be back.
We highly recommend Blarcreen House it is so worth it.

Cannot fault Blarcreen House as a place to stay. From the moment we arrived the owners were extremely helpful - as my husband had a bad leg they took our bags upto the room. Our bedroom was outstanding - clean and comfortable and it was wonderful to have a double aspect on the beautiful scenery. Sian gave us so much helpful information and we would have stayed another night but they were fully booked and she even suggested another area to stay - which worked out really well. The breakfast was delicious. If we come back to the Oban area, we won't hesitate to book Blarcreen House.

I cannot recommend Blarcreen enough. I stayed in 8 different hotels and b&bs in the region (a highlands cycle tour) and this was by far the best.
Highly traditional and luxurious bedrooms overlooking stunning fields and Loch Etive (I stayed in the Loch Etive room - photo attached).
Sian and Gary couldn’t have been more welcoming on arrival. Gary kindly stowed by bike away nice and safe.
The food was AMAZING. I seriously recommend booking in for dinner - Sian is a great cook. I think I left several stone heavier!
You definitely need a car or a bike so you can get about as it is a little remote - but it’s so worth it - the walks and views are spectacular. I fell asleep to the sound of owls and sheep - perfection.

Stayed an overnight and would highly recommend. Lovely house with everything you could need. Fantastic hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. Excellent breakfast which was very fresh and perfectly cooked. Will definitely stay again.
