The room had seen better days. The counter had numerous scrapes. The bath had chunks missing from the enamel so it looked like insects or dirt. Carpet and shower curtain were quite old. A letter in the room advised that because of Covid-19 rooms would not be serviced on two night stays but replacement towels etc were available on request from reception. Reception refused to supply more than one toilet roll and a hand towel & bath towel between two people. One of the reasons I booked a hotel was because I wish to wash after a long day's travelling or excursions. If I don't wish to wash other options are available. I generally think using a towel to dry water that has escaped the shower curtain and ended on the floor is helping the hotel to protect their property but this was to my detriment. There was a dog siting on a sofa in the lounge bar barking.

Mixed feelings about this. I’ve stayed many times at the IOM Hotel over the years, either on my own for choir events or with family, and have never really had a problem. It is beginning to look tired and I welcome the fact they it’s closing for renovations. However to only be told about this 2 days before our stay as part of our honeymoon is a massive let-down. Surely they knew this was happening in advance and could have given more notice! Will think twice about coming back...

So 2020 was all about the #Staycation, after a week island hopping in Bonnie Scotland, we brought our week to an end in beautiful Mull. The Mull Hotel & Spa had the makings of a wonderful hotel, yet finds itself in need of a serious overhaul, the rooms are tired, the grounds are unkept and the food was over cooked, over priced and over rated, very disappointing. The staff at breakfast and dinner were fantastic, nothing was a bother and a credit to tired dreary looking hotel. Overall, very disappointing.

Planned to stay for two weekends in a row for work purposes, spent first weekend in a tired room desperately needing redecoration, overpriced and very average food. Second weekend the hotel cancelled the booking the day before travel, no apology, no alternative accomodation offered, no customer service whatsoever leaving me to source other accomodation last minute. Abysmal.

Spent two days at the Isle of Mull Hotel ..The location is breathtaking.The reception is so welcoming and cosy,and the reception staff very friendly. The rooms are a wee bit tired looking but very clean and comfortable and the views are outstanding. Food is lovely and the young dining team are great ,especially Mateus,who is very smiley and helpful,lovely young man. The spa and pool are great very clean with great guidlines regarding the current situation.I would like to say a big thankyou to Sarah at the spa area for going above and beyond to make our anniverary extra special. Overall a good wee hotel,with great views,great food and great staff.
