I don't usually like to be too negative but I have to say this hotel is terrible. I am a regular user of the Hilton group hotels and as such am a quote well versed in a range of hotels and services at various prices. I booked Village hotel direclty on the website, which was simple ebough, the room cost was £103 including gym and breakfast (or so I thought!). On arrival I checked in using the self check in system, it is gimmicky and anyone without experience of using Apps might struggle. The chap on reception was helpful enough though so go it done. The room was stifflingly hot, but was clean and had enough basics to be ok for the one night stay. I was informed that I'd need to download an app to order a meal, I asked if i could just order now and have it sent to my room (it is still only possible to eat outside *pandemci*). This is not possible apparently . Having evetnually joined the wifi (the free service is hardly usable as they have a premium paid service that is clearly what they want you to use). I downloaded the app, started to go through the order process then get hit with multipe questions just about stopping at inside leg measurement, bearing in mind I am resident at the hotel and have just compelted half these details to get checked in and the other half to get on the wifi. After about 20 mins of trying (the app crashed twice) I managed to order my meal, buyt this time it's nearly 9pm and I'm getting hungry. It was inclear if the meal would be delviered to my room or I was to pick it up.. i went to pick it up andwas told very clearly I should have waited! The meal was ok, pretty typical chain pub type stuff, all very expensive for the quality. The airconditioning wasn't working so i reported it in the app as instructed (you can't talk to a staff member, it's all via the app and a bot answers or rather doesn't). I could hear every word and movement of the chap in the next door room, his TV sounded like it was haning on the wall in my room (not his fault, just paper walls). The next I went downstairs to collect my 'in room' breakfast, nothing was available, the onlyo member of staff was a rather shouty lady who told me the only coffee was the coffee in my room. I'm not a snob but instant coffee in a £100 per night hotel is just not good enough. I had to buy a coffee from Starbucks (located in the reception area) for £3.10. I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to my meeting but lesson learnt, in the future I shall stick to my tried and trusted, human faced, personal touch brands. That at least appear to care about the people staying with them and cost a lot less per night to boot! Very very dissapointing indeed

The staff are appalling keep giving non sense orders and generate endless list of restrictions. Their manager Matt is included. The pool is very small and half of it is booked to swimming class which is held almost every day and every time during peak hours. The jaccuzi is cold. Changing room are filthy and half broken. When Sauna was on is was not hot enough. I wouldnot recommend it to any one. Be careful with membership team. There are lots hidden in the fine print.

I’ve only checked in today but I’m on a course nearby and staying 6 nights thinking I should have keep my booking at holiday inn. Check in ridiculous there is no one there so if you have an issue you have to call someone. I booked a club room and they all say they have a bath but the new rooms don’t and the older rooms aren’t very nice. Trying to get food was a joke, they expect you to know that your table number should be your room number...basic food and expensive. I’ve been up and down about 5 times son far as there are no phones in the room. I have access to the gym and classes but not to the app to see what is on....still waiting for them to email me. No print outs available.. I ended up calling them from my mobile. No where to hang towels...and no wardrobe...just a few hangers and a couple of draws. I agree with another reviewer paying premium prices but really no better than premiere inn. Very disappointed so far. Staff are children and have no idea of customer service and how to deal with complaints or requests. I’ve also pre booked here for two nights in June... non refundable unfortunately...

What a shocking experience. Placed me in a room next to the swimming pool pump and when I complained that I couldn’t sleep they ignored me! I have emailed them twice on their own system headed up ‘service issue’ and they have completely ignored me.

Stayed at the Village, Warrington, for the 2 night deal for 2 people including £40 towards dinner, access to the spa/leisure and a free glass of fizz. Didn't get the fizz - presumed due to having to have a meal with alcohol. Food in the restaurant is very good, and the staff were really helpful in managing to get us a table for 5 for dinner. Breakfast which would normally be buffet style is obviously now table served, so you can only ask for either full English or Continental. Continental consisted of a small croissant, banana, plain yoghurt, small bottle of orange juice and tea or coffee. The jugs of hot water are pre-filled and brought to your table for you to add the teabag so be aware if you choose tea - the water will not be 'boiling'. Facilities, and the rooms we had were great. Large wall-mounted TV with volume limited. No wardrobe, just a small rail with coathangers - fine for a couple of nights. Room had an iron and ironing board, but someone had 'removed' the hairdryer. Had one brought to the room no problem. Bed was SO comfortable. One pillow each but you can request more if you need them. One thing we noticed - the bathroom we had in our room (large walk-in shower, toilet, sink - no bath) did not have a towel rail, or anywhere to store towels! The shelf behind the sink is not really big enough to sit your toiletry bag on. I had to put mine on the floor. The wet bath-towel went over the door handle. Hand towel just had to sit on the edge of the sink. Shampoo and body wash is provided. The bathroom had a long glass window to partition it from the bedroom. There are 3 settings for the bathroom lights - Off, On (window opaque) and On (window translucent - you can see out into the bedroom, and in into the bathroom!!!). (There is no window to the outside world in room 209 apart from a small one in the bathroom which won't open). As far as the hotel is concerned, I would definitely recommend and would stay again. Now it comes to the bill. I also booked a single room for my 'bubble' friend for the Saturday night for her birthday. I was told that even though the bookingrevolution took my card details when I booked on the 10th, the money only gets taken at checkout. I checked out on Sunday 13th and the cost of the double room plus the restaurant meal for 5 on the Saturday were taken. However, the bill hadn't automatically reduced the bill by the £40 that was included in the deal - thankfully I checked the bill, the staff manually knocked the £40 off. My friend stayed a further two nights which she paid for on checkout. When I checked my bank account the following week, two lots of £71.50 (the price of the single room including b/fast and spa) had been taken. One on Friday 11th (which is before she actually even arrived at the hotel) and one on Monday 14th. I phoned the hotel who advised that according to their system it had only been charged once, so I emailed the 'Contactus@' address twice with a screenshot of my account as proof. Still waiting for a reply. I then used the 'Contact Us' button on the Website, and logged it as a Customer Service Complaint. That promised a response within 48 hours. However, a week later, the email response I got was simply 'thanks Julie!!'. So NOT impressed with the head office customer service. I'm still waiting for a £71.50 refund and even acknowledgement from their customer service team that they have received my emails. Also, using the BookingRevolution can only be done on line. I had to try 3 times to secure the double room when I booked on 10th - the first two times even though the system indicated that the transaction was successful, the website page then came up with an error to say the transaction was not successful. This put two 'pending transactions' in my account, which I was told would clear out within a week - which they did. When I booked the single room, my bank account said it was successful, the web page came up with a confirmation page, but I did not get a confirmation email. On trying to check my friend in on 12th, her reservation could not be found. So I had to go online and book again. This time I got an email confirmation. This must happen quite a lot as when I phoned the hotel after trying to gook the double room and checking with my bank to find there was no problem with my card, the member of staff had the response ready to explain that the pending transactions would not actually be taken, to clear my browsers and cookies, and try again. If any member of staff at the Village Warrington reads this it would be really great if you could provide another method of contacting the finance department.
