Wife chose this as our base of operations while we were visiting the DC area.
Pros - hotel is actually easy to get into and out of once you figure the streets out. GOOGLE MAPS says when you come in via Shady Grove Rd off 270 north, to turn on Zetts. If you actually turn at the Pleasant St light, just before the Checkers, you can follow it around to the hotel. Then use it to move right or left and give yourself time to get into any turn lanes you might need.
Yodith checked us in and was there in the mornings during our stay, always with a smile in her eyes behind the mask. High marks for her. As a matter of fact, high marks to all staff we interacted with; need more toilet paper, no problem. Want coffee a few minutes before the regular breakfast hours, you get led through the little kitchen to the coffee. Extra towels? I literally had a maid raid three rooms to get me some.
The cons- my bed was uncomfortable. I think it needed to be turned. The room carpet could stand a deep clean and the fridge needed defrosting due to the ice blocking the freezer.
From our hotel it was 40 minutes to parking lot A on the south side of the national mall. 40 minutes to Arlington Cemetary. And just over an hour to Gettysburg.
Need food, Safeway is a right turn out on the main drag. Right turn at Redlands, to Safeway (about 1 road mile/5 minutes). Then right turn out of Safeway, right turn on Gaither Rd, then right on Shady Grove, right on Pleasant and back to the hotel.
Breakfast was hot egg discs and sausage, bagels, muffins, cereals, yogurts and juices. Plus other items.
We recommend it.
