My family and I stayed at this hotel, this past weekend (10/30-11/1), for a swim competition. The hotel and the room itself was decent. The best part of the stay here was 1.) the closeness to the pool at DSU (where the event was located) and 2.) the beds were comfortable. In addition, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Also, I noticed that the front desk as well as the cafe staff were wearing masks. However, housekeeping was not. Even when bringing things like extra pillows or towels, they arrived at my door fairly quick, but mask-less. Due to covid, I decided to do a double check and sanitize / clean the room. There were a couple of places, like the headboards of the beds and the desk, that were clearly dirty/dusty and neglected. And I found a piece of chewing gum on the top part (not under) of the desk and in clear view. So overall, the rooms were not the cleanest that I’ve seen. If you plan to stay here, during covid, bring your own lysol and Clorox wipes. Do not expect any extra cleaning measures, regardless of what the website says.
Overall, this was not a bad place to stay. And For the right price, I would stay here again (I would just come prepared). My reason for the rating I gave was due to pricing and the friendliness of the staff. Otherwise, I would’ve rated this place a 3 star.
