I woke up on Tuesday morning to absolutely no running water in my apartment building. I waited until 11:30am and still had no word when it would be fixed. I had many many work meetings so I had to find a place to stay - quickly! I looked around in my neighborhood - and this was the best bet during the pandemic. Mainly because the market place was still open for meals. The front desk clerk understood my plight and was able to get me checked in at 12:30. Absolutely perfect as I had work meetings from 1-5pm. I didn’t catch her name but lord she was a godsend in my panic moment. My room was cozy, a but chopped up space wise - mostly the bathroom. No big deal. There’s a pull out desk, plenty of outlets, a cloud like bed and a chaise lounge of sorts. Everyone wore masks and it wasn’t too busy. Because I still didn’t know when the water would be back the next day I had to extend my stay last minute. Same front desk person and age made it very easy! Yeah! There is coffee at the front desk each morning and the market place has enough to eat well and not leave. You could also order take out from door dash etc but I didn’t do that. I had another round of work meetings and it went well. Why? Because I didn’t have any worries. No one came into my room, I wore a mask everywhere, amenities of food and a fridge for left overs was exactly what I needed. With the pandemic plus crazy word deadlines my stay was highly helpful!!! Only thing I didn’t like is the fan of the air conditioner. You can turn it off. It’s quite loud (people on the phone could hear it.) the only time it would stop is if I didn’t move. Ic there was a way to turn the fan down or off would be helpful. Just a suggestion for the hotel. I had room 417.

Needed a Room at 130 am Lee took great care of it and made the process super easy and convenient .... Thanks Lee!! You really saved the day definitely would recommend anyone to stay here if your in the Bethesda area

I don't know where to begin, I just knew that i should have checked out immediately and book myself into another hotel in the area. When i first arrived, my room had no electricity, and the lights were off. I thought that it was eco-friendly type of room, but it was not. The desk attendant could not believe that there was no electricity, he moved me to the room next to the one that had no electricity so i asked if the room would have electricity, he reassured that it would be. So i had the lights on, it was on 7th floor, and the hallway reeks of cigarettes. I didnt want to go back down to move into another room and i tried to change the temperature for the Heating/AC center, but it was not working. it was a little cold in the room and i did not like the way how the fan circulates in the room which made it colder. I had figured that a hot shower would help to shake it off, but i had no HOT WATER running! i had to turn it off a couple of times because i could not bear any more of running cold water. Actually, the only time that it was warmer is when i was in my car with heating on, and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Otherwise, the location is right by the marketplace, Starbucks, and it was easier to walk to the shops that i could grab what i had needed before my meetings. I would definitely recommend to those who can stay in this area during the summer time where the AC is most fitting for. OR needed a place where they can short for a short period of time. I was in the town for meeting and this is the best i could find in the area of Chevy Chase.

Great location. The night desk attendant was pleasant but unaccommodating. The hotel was nowhere near being full (even COVID compliant full) as evidenced by the parking lot & the lighted guest rooms. I requested a room with a bathtub, however I was put in a room directly next to the elevator, with no tub. When I went back to the desk to ask for a fix, the attendant said that he couldn't do anything to remedy the situation--the rooms were already assigned for the evening. I came to understand that the attendant did indeed have the option to remedy my situation--but it would have required reconfiguring night reports. Very disappointing. Between the noisy elevator for the better part of the night and the malfunctioning temperature unit in the room, I had a terrible stay. And, as the cherry on top, I went to use the in-room coffee machine and it seems it wasn't cleaned after the guest before me-there was a used pod. Thankfully, I had my disinfectant wipes and cleaned all of the surfaces in the room before settling for the night. I have to say, this was probably the worst hotel stay that I have had in quite some time. I would not recommend...at least not during COVID.

Above all Customer service and respect is most important. The ladies working the desk Saturday (4/10) morning were very sweet and charming. Unfortunately my experience with Cal at check-in on 4/10 was the opposite. As a retired MI employee I appreciate it may be difficult to stay current on ever changing policies and guidelines but it is not the Marriott way to the be dismissive and cut a guest off mid sentence. I attempted to explain to Cal that as a retiree, we don’t have access to explorer rate forms and therefore we are only able present our Qtr Century Club card at check-in. It wasn’t until I came back down to desk and provided him with the QCC 800 number, so he could here for himself the policy, did he reluctantly accepted my card. Hope this becomes a coaching opportunity as there is nothing more important than the genuine care and respect of a hotel guest.
