This hotel was a great place to stay for several days while visiting family in nearby DC. It’s location is very convenient if you’re without a car - a 10 minute walk to the Silver Spring Metro station on the Red Line, right in the heart of a busy restaurant and shopping area, across the street from Whole Foods and a CVS, less than a 5 minute walk to Starbucks and Panera Bakery on Colesville Rd. for great breakfasts. Reception was happy to call an UBER for us when we needed a lift about 1.5 miles down Georgia Avenue, since their shuttle vehicle was being repaired. (There were NO taxis available to hail on the street.) Our room with two queen beds on the 7th floor was spacious, clean and quiet, had a mini fridge and a good TV, lots of plugs for recharging devices, wonderful plumbing(!) including great water pressure, good drain in bath/shower, etc. The lobby/lounge at Reception level had a bright Bistro for light meals and snacks and an easy, comfortable atmosphere. Be aware that the hotel entrance is a bit weird until you figure it out, then it’s fine. (1) From the attached Wayne Avenue Garage on Wayne Avenue, take the elevator to the 5th floor for the short bridge/skywalk to Reception. Once you’re in the hotel itself, Reception is on the 3rd floor. (2) The official hotel entrance on Fenton St. isn’t very impressive and once inside the first set of doors at street level, you’re faced with another set that won’t open. BUT, your room key allows entrance. Without a room key, there’s an intercom on the right side to call up to Reception or simply walk left around the corner to the garage entrance. Overall, would definitely stay again.
