This is the 2nd or 3rd time Hilton got me with surprise charges and inflated bills at check out.
From $16 per night to park 1 car even though we’re already paying to stay with them. It’s not like we’re there to for a conference. If your paying for a room
Parking should be complimentary.
Then they always got this $25 “hold” at check in. And every person you ask what’s that for has a diff story. “Oh is to go towards your parking, or oh it’s like credit to go towards if you do room service or eat in the restaurant, or oh it’s just to verify the card is good (I.e active & able to be charged) and my response is always why? you charge me for the room at checkin so u got my card on file and already know it works so the extra $25 is BS, probably just a way for Hilton to hope you forget and screw you.
The 1st time it happened I was like maybe it’s just that location or that staff but it made me have my guard up this time. So at check out I went up to the front desk, ask for print out of what will be total charged to my card and what do you know it was like $60 over what it was supposed to be. The lady at the desk grab the receipt out of my hand crumpled it up a tossed it in the garbage in the blink of an eye (like they know I caught them) & the she is like omg I don’t know how this happened here I’ll print you a new one. This one said 149 so they took the 60 off according to what I got on paper when I walked out. They said in a couple days I would at least see the credit pending/processing in my account. Well it’s 48 hours later and nothing. So like last time I had to call back the hotel waste my time, get the run around, and told to be patient for a few days. I said nope I’m giving a bad review and I’m going to be calling my credit card company to dispute the over charge.
I love the Hilton brand, and been loyal customer for 25 years, staying in most of the 50 states, Japan, Israel, Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, & Switzerland, but screw with me once shame on you, screw with me twice shame on me. I told my partner from now on we should always put Marriott first choice. At least they upfront about ripping you off so you know what your getting into.
