I booked this room as a halfway point to my vacation destination. When I arrived I was surprised to see how full the hotel was, with Covid and all. It was pouring rain, and the nice lady at the desk told me that lots of people were jumping off the highway to get out of the rain. The hotel was smartly decorated in cheerful colors, Mostly with interesting pieces of blown glass. I was able to check in quickly without incident, and I found a seal on the outside of my door that had to be broken to enter – another Covid thing. The room was clean and the furnishings looked new. I only spent the night, so I can’t speak to housekeeping services or anything like that on an ongoing basis. I have plenty of white fluffy towels and a nice walk in shower. Breakfast in the morning was OK. They can’t serve the usual buffet Or make-your-own waffles right now, but they did have plates of eggs and potatoes and sausage, covered in plastic, and a warming tray that were being refilled regularly. I didn’t have any of those, but I did have a fresh bagel that I toasted, and hard-boiled eggs, which were available still in their shell. There was also yogurt, individually wrapped fruit, oatmeal in packets, etc. they also offered milk, fruit juice, and the ever important coffee. I checked out by 8:30 AM and was on my way. There are plenty of gas stations in close proximity, although if you drive about a mile away instead of using that one or two that are right by the hotel, you’ll probably save $.30 a gallon on gas. I used Google maps to find the cheapest location. Within a few minutes I jumped back on I-81, and continued to my destination. I normally get sick when I stay in a hotel, picking up a cold or something of the like, but I didn’t this time. All those extra cleaning protocols and sanitizing seem to have helped with that too. I would happily stay here again if I were passing through on I-81.
