My husband & I stayed17-20 November. In our room was what looked liked paper mache domes high up on the walls, I assumed was shoddy workman ship (fairly newish hotel) turned out it was covering smoke detectors. So many issues arose from that, our safety was compromised both from a fire safety point of view & as we didn't want anyone in our sanitised room to look at the domes we let it go. But hotel management has slugged us with a smoking charge $265. Which annoys me greatly. As we have actually never smoked in our life We tried to fight it to no avail. So be warned fellow travelers check out those smoke detectors upon checking in.
Btw the front desk staff were lovely & the hotel room & facilities were good.just the management are deceitful. We wonder if this is a revenue grab.hilton honor's program did absolute nothing, another aggravating issue.
While we will never see that money returned we will have our revenge, my husband works across the road from this hotel and they use the conference rooms at this hotel for annual strategy planning. He has now made sure visitors and this conference are pointed to the local Marriot going forward. This will cost the hotel a lot more long term than the $265!
