The room smelled like dogs. Stayed for two nights with my granddaughter and it was horrible. Usually I have a wonderful time but I don’t know if it’s because of COVID but the hotel went down hill. I won’t be returning.

Absolutely horrible 'roach' motel in a very seedy area off the highway, almost impossible to find. Heaters/AC units in the rooms are ridiculously loud -- think jet engine -- making sleep impossible. That's not all, walls are paper thin, can hear every word, next door showers and toilet flushes are deafening, and guest room doors are being slammed -- loud booms that will shake your walls -- ALL... NIGHT... LONG. Front desk night staff did absolutely nothing to stop noise going until 4am. We did not sleep at all during our three night stay and will never ever stay in this place ever again! Save yourself the horrible nightmare and find an Air B&B instead.

Very disappointed experience. Very loud at night. A family next door with kids were very loud and kept me up until 3:00am in the morning. The hotel should have a very strict policy regarding noise specially at night when other guests are going to bed.

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I want to make sure they are praised highly before I get in to why I gave my stay a 0. The young man who checked me in was kind, accommodating and friendly. He gave me all the information I needed about my stay, including which door and area of the parking lot was closest to my room and the breakfast options for the morning. Please know that he should get high praise for his customer service. I booked this hotel because my parents had a great experience at a different La Quinta (Rt. 3 in Clifton, NJ.) They said the Clifton La Quinta was clean, new and quiet. I assumed that this was reflective of the La Quinta brand, and booked a stay at the Fairfield location because it was very close to my appointment the following day. My first impression of the building was a terrible parking lot with so many potholes I could barely navigate, and I noticed that the walls of the hotel were water stained and dingy looking. The interior of the hotel had water stains all over the ceilings, I noted the age and disrepair of the building. It smelled like old cigarette smoke throughout the hallways and very strongly inside my supposedly nonsmoking room. It smelled like years of cigarette smoke cloaked by perfumed air fresheners. The mattress was so old I could feel the springs in my back from the moment I sat down. The bathroom light was dim. The toilet was running when I entered the room, and periodically throughout my stay. The shower curtain smelled like mildew. The windows were scratched and you could barely see through them. The room was very dim to begin with, and the light over the desk didn't work. The fluorescent light in the entryway was malfunctioning, flickering and dim. I was extremely displeased with the condition of this hotel. I'm surprised that a La Quinta just a few miles down the road is new, comfortable and received high marks from my family who stayed there. The Fairfield location deserves a major renovation. I will not stay here again or recommend to friends. And I'm not comfortable recommending the La Quinta brand to anyone I know because the quality is apparently vastly inconsistent.

My friend and I made an online reservation for a suite WITH OUR DOGS as we were in town for a dog show. We made the reservation 10 days prior and clearly indicated we had dogs. We arrived at midnight to check in (with our dogs in the van) and we were informed that we were not permitted to stay in the suite. They had 10 days to notify us that they did not allow dogs in the suites. Perhaps the suites are cleaner than the dilapidated a, dirty and outdated room we were involuntarily moved to, but I doubt it. Apparently it is a marijuana friendly hotel for those who may be interested as the scent wafted throughout the halls without a concern. When I complained that we should have been notified prior security was called due to my hostility. This hotel is clearly in need of new management.
