Worst motel experience ever. We arrived around 10pm and the first thing we saw as we were checking in was the police circling the building. That should have been our warning. There was one party in front of us, but it took nearly 30 minutes to check in. The lady working had her friend hanging out in the lobby, but it was closed off to customers only allowing patrons to access the building from the very back. As we rounded the corner to the back of the building there was a group of people “hanging out” near the back entrance. Once we entered we could smell a strong marijuana smell and upon entering our room we noticed immediately that it was dirty. The floor had not been swept, there was a cigarette butt on the floor, and it was just dirty all around. I reminded myself I was only sleeping there and went to use the bathroom to find there was no soap, none, zero, zilch. I went to the lobby and frustrated and asked, “ Do y’all not have soap because there is none in my room”. The lady gave me an attitude and said, you can ask nicer (I could have, but there should have been soap in the room). Then she said she wasn’t going to give me any soap until I asked nicely. I was not about to play that game and told her so and reminded her that a room should at the very least have soap in it. She continued to tel me she wasn’t going to give me any soap and then said she was going to check us out, to which I replied, “ that’s fine, I’ll take a refund “. 2 days later no refund and no one answers the phone at their corporate office for me to get any help.
I question how Motel 6 is helping prevent the spread of COVID when people can’t even simply wash their hands properly because there is no soap in the rooms?
