I would give NO stars if that was possible.
It all quickly went downhill when the very rude front desk boy said we were given a smoking room. "We tried to call you to see if you wanted a non-smoking room." We DID NOT get any calls from this motel. Even if they did call us and no answer, why would they just give us a smoking room. Once they told us this, the boy said if the smell was really bad, they could give us an ozone machine to help...ok...anxiety settles in.
We get to the door, which has a sticker that says "sanitized". I'm hopeful. But once we open the door and are plowed with the nastiest stench of stale cigarettes, I lose all hope. The bed looked like it hadn't been washed, the duvet had cigarette burns in them, the sheets were stained and the pillows were stained. I couldn't even stay in the room longer than a minute before feeling like I was going to throw up. We went to ask the boy if we could please get another room and he gave us THE WORST attitude ever, "maybe you shouldn't have booked a smoking room." (WE DIDN'T, IM PREGNANT) and the real kicker, the boy then admits, "Yeah the smoking rooms are disgusting." Then he tried to upsell us a non-smoking room. Are you freaking kidding me? My husband was nothing but reasonable with this boy and this boy clearly didn't give one care in the world about us or his place of work.
This is all absolutely uncalled for. We will NEVER book ANY room at a Motel 6 again. I just really hope Expedia will give us a refund because we couldn't stay the night as he gave us no options and told us to "just go stay somewhere else then."
