I've stayed here close to 100 time over the years. I'm an inspector and a lot of inspections I do are for motel and hotels. That's the reason I was here, so I notice more than most people. For me the first thing I notice is structure, the roof the parking lot. Most people wouldn't even see that. Other things I notice are safety issues. Such as fire fighting equipment, alarms I even look at the tags on things to make sure they are serviced right. I know I sound boring but when your job is to look at everything in a building, you notice more. For this building it's in great shape, I've never done an inspection on it, but they put a lot into it. And do a lot of updates. Its not a fancy place, but it has a lot that most motels in the area don't , they allow pets, they are very specific in the rooms pets are allowed in, the reason why is for allergies. Some people are very allergic and they make sure there are rooms that are pet free. They do allow smoking, those are in limited rooms and away from the non smoking rooms. They really try to cater to everyone. In past stays I have seen the owner with people, she treats even difficult guests really well. This is a place my best friend and I used to go to when we were 18 we were going to Santa cruz and excited and we could afford here. 20 years later I can afford more and this still the motel I stay at in Santa cruz

Place was close to boardwalk, service was very nice. They accommodated the extra pillows needed for our family and they were super nice during check in. The only downside to this place was some of he other guests in the motel. Loud music and a lot of unique guests made it a little uncomfortable for our children. On a plus it is totally a great place to stay overnight on our trip through Santa Cruz. If you’re passing through. The rates are good, clean rooms, nice family management and close to walk everywhere. The front desk gave us a great room and there was enough space for our family. The couch pulls out into a bed so that was an extra nice perk. Also windows open we asked for a 3 rd floor room and we got one of the best rooms on the end. It was nice to see that a family can run a motel and take pride in their service and cleanliness of the rooms. We would stay again if we were passing through. Again it’s a motel not a hotel so it was what I expected and in many ways exceed our expectations. Only other suggestion to add would be if they had coffee makers for guests in the room.
