I checked in after sitting on the tarmac for 6 hours. Hadn’t eaten all day and looked forward to a meal at the hotel. Checked it at 10:30pm and all restaurants were closed. The front desk helped me order room service (closes at 11:00pm) but it never showed up. There’s no food in the minibar (an empty fridge), there are no vending machines, no hotel shop, no nothing. I expect my hotel to be a home away from home. Otherwise I will stay at a motel. Don’t be fooled, this is a gigantic motel. And my room smells weird. Can’t wait to check out.

We've never stayed at any Marriott property so our hopes were high after hearing all the recommendations we received. This location was under renovation so the exterior of many areas was not too appealing. We were informed shortly before our scheduled stay the pool was inoperable. That was a major disappointment. The noise from the construction was annoying. We were attending a conference so the meeting facilities, restaurants and bathrooms were all very lovely. Our room was a disappointment. We had issues getting the a/c unit to blow consistently. Each night we'd awaken "parched." Our room was in an older portion of the Marriott which was a strain to walk from there to the other side for our daily conference sessions. It was extremely tiring for someone who suffers from a condition that causes fatigue. We had no idea we would be that far away from our meetings. The room didn't have a microwave. We had to walk quite a distance to access those so there was no late night hot snacks. This was another disappointment because we were trying to socially distance and we ate quite a few of our meals in the room after getting take out from the restaurants within the Marriott. Our shower was most disappointing. The toiletries were nice but there was something that had been spilled on the floor of the shower and it was stained badly. I wore shower shoes the entire time because I couldn't figure out what it was. Our room was cleaned daily but the red stuff was never removed. I'm not sure why the cleaning crew didn't bleach that area and remove the soiled spots but oh well. We were not amazed with our accommodations. It was a letdown based upon the "hype" we had received. It could've been due to us being in the older wing or maybe that is how Marriott is all the time......we don't know at this point. If you decide to stay at this location please make sure you request a room that is far from the construction area, closer to your meeting rooms if attending a conference and have them explain the room policies during check-in. They charge you in advance for meals each day and this wasn't explained so on our last day we were trying to check out and told to go grab a bite to eat because we had a credit. They refused to credit the money back to our account ($20 per day). They said we could use it towards a future stay. Who does this? Had my husband not questioned the charges we would've wasted money because we had no intentions of staying at another Marriott based upon this experience. The also are running a "scam" where they tell you to report to the lobby for your free gift. They even call and leave messages on the phone. When you report downstairs for the gift it is 1 small bottle of hand sanitizer and they try to sell you a future vacation package. We didn't have hand sanitizer available in our room. There were sanitizer stations in some places but you had to know where they were and we didn't so we used our own.

First I love the room. We stayed in the West Tower! It had hardwood floors in the room which I absolutely loved! The bathroom was super nice. The hot water was EXCELLENT which is unusual for a hotel and a pleasant surprise. The towels were nice too. Customer Service was awful from the beginning to the end. Checking in the hotel the front desk clerk was nice but without information. He didn't tell us what to expect or not expect from housekeeping as to the cleaning of our room. 1) we were told that we must request our room to be cleaned. We did that the 2nd night and the room still wasn't cleaned. We did that the 3rd night still not cleaned. Our room wasn't cleaned until the night before we were checking out. Now they claimed Covid-19 protocols, but they came in the room, still doing what they called 'straightening up'. It was more like looking through and making up the bed. Why come in at all? We asked one of the hotel managers, Nicole, who told us after going through one lie after another, that she doesn't clean her bathroom at home. My husband told her that's nasty and she probably shouldn't be over the hotel. The concierge didn't have valuable information. If you asked ten people in the hotel the same question and receive ten different answers. The final straw for me was day of check out and I received a call at 5:28am that my debit/credit card had been turned in. I went down later to retrieve it, the front desk clerk was very unconcerned as I waited for her to find my card, she was extremely nonchalant and announced proudly, it's not here. After losing it a bit, I requested a manager. That was a little better because she listened & attempted to help, however, no one had any answers. Security called my room, not a cell phone and no one had answers or could even verify the call. My card was missing so it wasn't a prank. As the front desk clerk was on the phone, she pranced back and forth like a young lady talking to her boyfriend rather than an adult at work handling business. The bell hop sealed the deal for me as he came to get our bags for one room when we requested two carts. He complained the entire time and sealed the deal by yelling at us and even acting as if he wanted to fight. He said do you know how far your room was? We looked puzzle because the hotel is huge and it wasn't our fault we were in the West Tower?! Obviously he didn't want a tip which he didn't receive. I've always been a fan of Marriott Hotels and it is usually my first choice, but no more.

On the 16th of July I took a trip to Orlando World Center Marriot to enjoy the resort and have a good time with my kids and wife and before my trip I searched for nice pool resort hotels to have fun. I found out thru information that was provided to me online that World Center Marriot in Orlando had an amazing facility with nice resort pool that my family could enjoy. Once we got there, after I did an UPDATE on the room with the pool view, that the actual pool was under construction. All you could see was tractors and construction workers. There was no pool for myself and family enjoy with an exception of a small kids pool. What a shame!!! I was never advise and there was no information what so ever that the pool was under construction. It was the worst experience I ever had and wasted of vacation days on this hot summer with no pool. I've being in many Marriot resorts thru the country and never had this experience. Not to mention the poor room service that you could never get someone at front desk and It was really hard to get even toilet paper. Wow!!! Very disappointed!!!

hyper-commercialized corporate monster with no flavor no fun and no authenticity. this means the decor, this means the STAFF , and the quality of everything else - I would go to Sonder or the Lakeside Mount Dora , because most things in this area have become close to how bad this place sucks . Or stay in a rental. But please not here. They should have an adult toy shop instead of the lame-o gift shop. Idea'ish renovations to the point the place is bland all the way.
