Pros: This hotel was great for our needs since it was located less than 3 minutes near the work location for the week which is why we picked it – we have never stayed in a StayBridge before.
It was overall a good hotel – staff was friendly, breakfast was decent, office chair and desk were comfy and big enough for my needs, quiet on our floor/near our room, size of the room pretty good – spacious and nice appliances – stainless steel, granite countertops added a nice touch.
Downstairs there is a convenience store/pantry which is common at hotels that have kitchenettes. The pantry is smaller than other pantry’s/stores inside of hotels that we have been to the last several months but they have a decent selection of medicines, candy, frozen meals, ice cream, drinks, and other snacks to last you so you don’t have to venture out if you don’t want to.
I did not visit the business center, outside pool (bathroom outdoors), gym, or laundry services so I cannot speak on those but they are available for use.
There is a free 24 hour shuttle available during certain times and within a certain radius – this info was available in our room on the fridge along with info on social menu they have Mondays through Wednesdays too.
The hotel is a great location that was not terribly far from the main attractions in Baltimore and close to several restaurants in and around downtown Lithicum.
The hotel itself was clean/tidy in the hallways, lobby, and breakfast area.
Plenty of parking. The parking does not wrap around the hotel though you will have to backup and turn around if you go too far around the back of the hotel.
Air conditioner worked perfectly.
Extra pillows in the closet. Iron and ironing board in the closet. Laundry basket in the closet. Shelves in the closet for extra storage space. Safe in the closet for valuables.
Kitchenette had plenty of equipment for our use – fridge with a great ice maker, stove top, microwave (big), toaster (needed this so it worked out great), dishwasher, pots, pants, silverware, dishes, pyrex containers, etc.
Cons/Issues: Service was very slow to fix the toilet – 5 hours (during that time we had to contact the front office 4 times and someone finally fixed it). The issue with the toilet was it wouldn’t even flush with just water in it. They ended up snaking it multiple times and someone had put soap down the toilet. The maintenance guy said this has happened multiple times in the hotel before. I would suggest you check your toilet a few times when you get in your room. They did give us a lot of points for our trouble towards rewards so that was great to try to make up for the long wait but 5 hours is 5 hours of waiting.
The big window was open maybe an inch and we couldn’t figure out how to close it during our stay but no bugs or rain came in, we just had to deal with the noise of the traffic during the day and at night so we didn’t complain about it after the long toilet fiasco. Tub was very slippery and dangerous.
Internet slows down and keeps spinning at times so just beware it isn’t always going to go fast.
TV channels weren’t that great but that is most hotels these days.
Elevator was pretty slow and we had to take the stairs a few time.
Room was not super clean – floor in kitchen was sticky, crumbs on counters/cabinets, guide/visitor’s info book was sticky and smudges on office desk and furniture.
Overall, with the issues we had (mainly the toilet, cleanliness, and tub) we wouldn’t stay here again. We have been in nicer places for the same cost and no issues.
