Spent 5 days at the Bostonian in late May. Staff was great - personable, friendly. A few of the days were in the 90s and complimentary water was made available. The room was spacious and we had a small balcony overlooking Faneuil Hall. Great watching the area come alive in the morning. Location was perfect as we were able to walk to the North End, Seaport District, Back Bay, China Town & the Boston Common. We walked and Uber'd everywhere we wanted so can't comment on the parking situation. Loved our stay and would return.

The food was excellent with great music and excellent service. We had cheese board, burrata, salmon, ribs, lobster sandwich and tiramisu. All was great! We all enjoyed the food. We will come back! They also have a discount if you park in a garage that is close to the restaurant

3 major issues: Arrived at the hotel to discover it was a free-for-all parking situation. No valet (not a huge issue to self park) but it was like something out of The Hunger Games to park in the nearest garage. Next, the hotel did not have my reservation (confirmation #, correct dates, what a mess) and the hotel was fully booked. We were offered little consolation and it after a half hour discussion we were put up in an unsellable room (broken doors/no HVAC) and paid full price for this room. We had little choice at 8pm at night. Now I’ve been charged twice for the room… over $500 total. No one from the hotel or through Hotels.com (where I booked) has contacted me. I’ve stayed at this property before and recommended it to others. Doubt I will ever do that again. Hope I get my money back some day. - Signed a teacher who just needed a night of relaxation after a long year of in-person teaching during a pandemic.

Thank you Nick for extending our late check out and letting our car being Parked for the same reason in front of the hotel. Bless you Nick for your kindness. We really appreciated you very much. Our stay was fantastic. Nice room with a balcony and a fire place. The lobby was very inviting. Internet was working very well. It is a very clean hotel at a perfect location! Extra water is free in the lobby to collect.

I have enjoyed staying here many times in the past.. We arrived to a zoo at the valet area. After waiting for 15 minutes for the overwhelmed valet to speak to us (I don't blame him) he informed us the hotel does not offer parking AT ALL and that I have to park several blocks away and hoof it back in the pouring rain. He apologized profusely (I'm sure his tips are minimal now). I checked in and asked there when they planned on resuming valet service. He told me they would not offer valet service until their vendor gave them a reasonable contract. So it was not covid-related but their inability to make it work. The front desk person did not seem to get that myself and many others were pissed off (no mention on website). After being quickly brushed off by him I set out in search of my room. Room 436 is down a maze of hallways but I found it. It's a bizarre room where you enter at the top of a flight of stairs and your room is at the bottom. The windows are knee high and you have to bend over to see out. Not horrible but very weird. A word of warning and asking if it's OK would have been nice. Overall just a very poor experience in a hotel I normally love staying at. "Covid" is no longer an excuse for indifferent service and bad operational management. Get it together.
