Having read the reviews for this hotel, I wasn't expecting much (it was booked by work colleagues), but I was pleasantly surprised. The room we got was spacious and comfortable, and the shower was strong and hot. The breakfast had a weird selection of choices (from my viewpoint, others might think it was fine), and the bread seemed a bit stale; probably the least enjoyable breakfast of all those we had in Uzbekistan. But it did have a coffee machine, so that helped a bit. There weren't many restaurants within walking distance though. My colleague arrived back at the hotel feeling really ill one night, and the staff were apparently amazing, helping her into the hotel (literally) from the taxi, calling a doctor, and really looking after her. So top marks for that!

Location was good, hotel was very old furnished, but clean. Single rooms are very small and not useful, double rooms are better and bigger. Breakfast was standart quality(not bad), bar is good, it works 24 hrs and you find a large selection of drinks. Restaurant and bar personnel are very kind and helpfull. Price is too much when compare with the conditions of hotel.

This hotel looks like a block of flats on a council estate and is not much better inside. With thinning carpets and unfinished balconies it really is an unattractive stay. Upon my arrival they had me recorded as sharing a room with a stranger and told me they had no other rooms for me. They asked if I could share a room with my elderly parents, or they would move me to another hotel. We told them this was unacceptable and all of a sudden they managed to magic up a room out of thin air, suggesting to me that they had not been telling the truth. Although the room was alright, there was absolutely no Wi-Fi at all in the room, and it appeared that the phone in the room could not be used to communicate with other rooms in the hotel. After being made to tip up front for suitcases to be delivered to rooms, my suitcase was delivered to my parents room, and on leaving they didn’t even bother to collect it from outside my room as arranged. I spoke to the staff who just said they didn’t have my room on their list and walked off without doing anything about it. In the end I had to go back up to the 7th floor myself to retrieve my case. The breakfast is extremely poor with not much variety. When items run out, such as glasses or juice, they are not replenished unless you ask staff to do so. The coffee machine is pretty useless, you are lucky if you get half a small cup, and it’s a miracle if you get milk! The location is also not the best. Tucked away in a side street far away from the main attractions, it is extremely uninviting on arrival. Best avoided!

We stayed at Shodlik palace for few days. Location is good but none of the staff have knowledge about Tashkent attractions . Barley speak English . The mattress is horrible , almost damaged our back . We booked through hotels.com and end up to cancel the remaining of our stay . On October Tashkent weather is good but still hot and need AC . Every day problem w AC. Room was very hot. no one was able to fix it. Also we tried to talk w the front desk manager, it was a woman but she completely ignored us. We left messages but she did not respond . She has no customer service skills. Front desk and Restaurant staff were very nice but the manager was horrible . Breakfast was delicious. Room service was good . Btw it suppose to have 3 English channels in TV but none of them worked .

...this might have been a modern city hotel. Today it’s outdated: carpets, bathroom, elevator, breakfast buffet, tv, bedding - it‘s all a bit grey and dusty. Positives are the strong WiFi, the friendly service people and the terrasse (very nice for breakfast).
