We stayed one night in this amazing bungalow. We had an amazing view to volcano. Thanks to Freddy for transport, organisation and his wife for accommodation and food. It was delicious. I would recommend this stay with local people for everyone who wants to know about local traditions, life... Best experience ever :)

I stayed there for 2 nights in May 2019. The tree house has a phantastic view to the volcano. The transfer to the volcano is 30 minutes by car. The familiy will cook for you, the food is excellent. The bed is comfortabable, there is electricity 24 hours and a moskito net. Freddy the owner is very helpful and can organise any kind of excursions. The guest is part of the family and village and can experience real island life, I enjoyed that a lot. The shower is fresh underneath the tree house surrounded by nature. Toilet clean and water flushed. Best stay in Eastern Tanna.

Our stay in Tanna, at this accommodation was really great, thanks to the host's family. Freddy is the kindest host I have ever met, he is helpful, careful, smiling and full of great advices! He came on time to pick up us from the airport, and he comes in person for his clients, even if this is a 2 hours drive! We informed in advance that we do not eat meat, and Miss Nealy took that information into consideration : all of our meals were perfect, and very good! We had the chance to meet Freddie's daughter and son, it was a great pleasure. Do not miss the opportunity to go and visit the village; dancing with the kids and my sweet Mary was the highlight of my stay - really loved it! Freddie can organise excursions, so that you do not miss Tanna's beauties. We went to the Yasur Volcano and the Blue Cave thanks to him. The Bungalow is clean, comfortable with a real bed, and there is light. From your terrace and also from your bed, you will see the Yasur Volcano just accross, and when the sky is clear, you can see the eruption! The (outside) shower is great, and you will enjoy (cold) shower surrounded by the nice garden and with open sky. I cannot wait to go back to Volcano Roaring Front and I recommend with no hesitation!

We had a very unique and wonderful stay with Freddy and his family. He and his wife are excellent hosts and they do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. I was honestly surprised by their way of life and how they manage to make a comfortable living in the jungle (flushing toilets and showers!). Many tours were offered and Freddy has all the connections, which was great. They aren’t expensive at all, between 1000–1500VT pp! He took us to a local village (Jihn Frum village), where we saw the whole village perform music and dance. They welcomed us in their home and were actually happy we came to visit them. It didn’t feel touristy at all and it felt authentic. Another highlight was the local Tony Chicken Tour! Tony, a local resident living off the jungle showed hs how he hunts and sets traps. We managed to catch a chicken together and were allowed to take it with us. Again this experience offered a unique unsight into their culture and life, without any other tourists whatsoever. If you’re heading to Tanna you should definitely stay at least two nights near the volcano. It’s unreal to see the red glow at night and hear it roaring. If you’re going to this area (which you should, it’s unforgettable!) we would absolutely recommend staying at Freddy’s place. And besides going to the volcano we recommend to take some extra time to visit the local village and see how they live and hunt (and get chicken!).

We had such a wonderful experience staying at Volcano Roaring Front. From the moment Freddy picked us up at the airport, we knew we would be in for an amazing experience. We enjoyed a bumpy, but beautifully scenic, drive on the way to the bungalows and were especially taken away once we arrived to the fantastic location and uniqueness of what Freddy (and his family) have built. We stayed in the treehouse bungalow; which had a balcony that directly overlooked the volcano, ash fields, and parts of the jungle. The bungalow was basic, but very comfortable and decorated lovely with leaves and flowers. We were impressed by the flushing toilet and the outdoor shower - overlooking the volcano! Breakfast was included but additional meals (lunch and dinner), made with local vegetables and fruits, were provided and cost between 800-1000VT pp. Freddy can help organise virtually any tour within the island and the surrounding areas. The local tours range from about 1000-1500VT pp; with tours to the other side of the island being a little more expensive. Remember to bring a good amount of cash and some extra - as everything is paid in cash and there are no ATMs! We got sunrise and sunset tours to the Volcano and Freddy helped organise the transport - even at 3am in the morning! Freddy took us for a tour to a local village (John Frum) where they welcomed us and performed traditional songs and dance. We also visited a local, Tony and his family, who showed us how they lived off the jungle using traps to hunt - Tony Survival/Hunting Tour! We caught a chicken in a trap and Tony allowed us to practice our bow and arrow skills. The family provided us coconut juice and some local vegetable to eat. It was such an incredible experience and very personal. We strongly recommend doing the tours offered by Freddy to get that cultural experience. What Freddy has created is amazing. He cares wholeheartedly for his community and is using tourism to help support the community and his family. It feels genuine and it gave us experiences we will never forget! Totally recommend staying at Volcano Roaring Front if you want experiences that you will never get staying in a resort that organises large group tours. You'll also have an amazing location to watch and hear the roaring sounds of the volcano while being immersed in the jungle. (Thanks Freddy!)
