I stayed in Chip's House for a couple of days with my boyfriend when we visited Hanoi and we loved it. The hosts, Loan and her brother, were super friendly and gave us many tips as to where to eat breakfast and what not (Loan had even texted us more tips and places to visit through whatsapp!). We had one of our most favorite and memorable meals during our 6 week SE asia trip here at Chip's House and that was when we accidentally stumbled upon a lunch and fresh spring roll cooking class that was in the kitchen when we walked in. Loan and her family were teaching all of us who were there at that time how to make a proper spring roll, which we afterwards ate in addition to more super delicious homemade vietnamese food.
Now most importantly, concerning the accommodation itself: we stayed in a double loft room that had a sea view and it was great. We had air conditioning, a window that stretched an entire wall, a cute little bench area and a small open space underneath the lofted bed. The bathrooms are shared and the toilets/shower stalls were clean. There is also a roof top terrace which has amazing views. The place itself is a bit difficult to find as the entrance looked as if it was in a parking garage, but there are signs that point to you how to get up to Chip's Place. The location is, to be very honest, not that great - for tourists, most of the sites are within Old Town and will require ~30 min walking or a taxi ride. But really, we had such a great time at Chip's Place that we didn't really care too much about it. Thank you Loan and family for such a great and memorable stay!
