You get what you pay for. The room, and especially the en-suite bathroom, is pretty run down. But does deliver all you need. The included breakfast is very basic. But overall it doesn’t get cheaper than this in old town city center. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall a good choice for the budget traveler.

We stayed here for four days which included a night away on a tour. The hostel is quite dated, but you get what you pay for. We were greeted by a great lady called Anna, whose English was really good. The other staff do not speak English, and to be honest sometimes appear uninterested if not completely rude. Our room had mosquitoes, a TV remote that didn’t work and very noisy air-conditioning. We left our backpacks with the hostel for a two day tour, and on our return they had been opened and the contents gone through. Luckily we did not leave anything of value in the backpacks, but zips were broken and the backpacks were not closed properly. It’s a shame really, but we would not recommend this hostel to other travellers. Perhaps with better staff the situation will improve. It’s a shame as we liked Anna.

The staff was fine because they provided some information and helped to book a tour to Halong bay. First they gave us many options but we chose the one for 45$, it was good because the bus ride was fine, the tour guide was very nice and the rest on the tour was great. The breakfast was okay. It's very well located as it is in the old quarters where there's a lot to do specially in the evening. The rooms were clean but worn out.

We stayed there just for one night, but we were really satisfied. The room was clean, bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was fine, very nice staff - they upgraded our reservation to better room for free. We slept in Hanoi in free different hotels and this one was the best and the cheapest.

The room and bed were big with a desk and chair, but the room itself was freezing. I had to ask the front desk for a space heater. The hotel offered to pick me up from the airport, but I waited TWO HOURS for the driver. When I refused to pay, the hotel insisted I pay. I wasn't at all impressed with that. Aside from that, it was pretty good. They did my laundry (lost a sock) and organized a fabulous tour of Sapa.
