Hotels in Ho Chi Minh are generally inexpensive, so the fact that this one was only about $20 a night wasn't frightening - and the photos looked decent. Unfortunately, the photos don't really match the reality. The hotel is badly in need of some very basic maintenance: peeling wallpaper was "repaired" with tape; the shower door leaked all over the bathroom; the room had ants. The owners were very kind, but not in any hurry to make improvements. The last laugh came when I had been there a few days and noticed the sign out front seemed to suggest rooms could be rented by the hour. Good thing I have a sense of adventure!
