We booked The Pariat for 6 nights and were very disappointed with the hotel. To watch the TV we had to disconnect the box and reconnect it. several requests to reception did not fix this. There was no laundry bag when we arrived so we put our laundry in a plastic bag and took it to reception. No laundry list or bag was replaced during our stay. The shampoo bottle did not work and so it was left on the sink with the broken pump beside it. It was not fixed just had the pump replaced only. The face washer had holes in it and on 2 occasions they were not replaced. Breakfast was a mixture of items including a Russian Salad and none of the items were kept cold. The hot items did not have the burners lit under the chafing dishes and this had been mentioned in a previous post. The tea and coffee for breakfast was not hot and the milk and juice were not chilled. The breakfast room was around 25 degrees Celsius. Requests around 9 pm twice for ice resulted in no ice being available. The mini bar fridge was not capable of making ice. On he last night after again requesting ice, we did have some delivered to our room. The pool area is old and in need of repair and cleaning as per the photo's. The staff were quite good but on occasion, the door staff were asleep in the lobby. Although it's ;ocation was good with many restaurants close by, we could not recommend ths hotel.

We arrived in Da Nang without a booking for accommodation, knowing that there are numerous hotels in the district and sure that we would find suitable mid-range lodgings easily. We walked into the Pariat, the entry and foyer looked inviting and sure enough they were able to accommodate us for the two nights we required. We had arrived quite early in the day and understandably the room was not yet ready so we left our bags with reception and went for a walk to kill an hour while our room was being made up. That is about as far as the customer service and hospitality extended. When we returned and tried to pay the bill their card machine was not working so it was agreed that we would pay as we checked out - which is the way we would usually do things anyway... We checked into our room and took a shower after a 14 hour train ride overnight from Ninh Bình... a cold shower. No-one had bothered to inform us that there is a switch to turn on the hot water system and wait 20 minutes for it to heat up - AND wait 20 minutes until the next shower because you only get two minutes of hot water so not enough for the next person. Not what you would expect in a big city hotel. We decided to go and see the poolside bar and cafe and have a swim. The pool was closed for cleaning, fair enough, but bar and cafe? They don’t exist. There is an area that may have once been used for this purpose, but, you would need staff to be around to make it work. There were no staff around at all. We went back to the pool later... clean? There is algae on the sides and if you touch it, it all breaks away and clouds the water around you. There was a large patch of sunscreen spilled on the deck which presents a slipping hazard. I only mention this as it was still there the following day - I think the term ‘closed for cleaning’ is used very loosely as there was no evidence of any cleaning in the area what so ever. Also, if you are not a good swimmer... there is no lifeguard, or any staff for that matter, on duty. Swim at your own risk. We took a day trip the next day and upon our return we were chased across the lobby asking us to pay the bill. We were hot, tired and carrying a lot of shopping and said we will put our stuff away and return immediately to settle. We got to our room only to find we had been locked out! With all our belongings and our passports inside. Not happy! We went back to reception and asked why this had happened to which they were unable to explain in English. Several times as we left and returned, the doormen were sitting on the step smoking or playing games on their phone completely ignoring guests. Whilst We are perfectly capable of opening a door ourselves, we do wonder what these guys are being paid for. We were really feeling like we have been treated as second class citizens. While this hotel is in a good central location, opposite the dragon bridge, it is noisy. There are several bars nearby that play excessively loud music at night which can be heard even inside our seventh floor room until early hours of the morning. Speaking of noise, the airconditioner needs a service as it too is noisy, like having a train engine inside the room. On the second day, the TV in the room stopped working... On the last day, we went downstairs for breakfast and there were no lights working in the dining room. I really think this hotel is struggling and their lack of customer service skills and attention to detail is most likely the cause. My advice... keep walking and go somewhere else.

The good first - I double booked my airport transfer - via the hotel and via another app, long story, anyway, I offered to pay the full fare as it was my fault but they just took half. Lobby staff and doorman were all polite, but aside from the doorman, spoke very little English, so it was a little difficult to communicate the issues that would have made my stay better. The location is fine, right across from the river and very near the dragon bridge so you could watch the show from the roof and it was quiet enough to sleep, as long as your room neighbours are quiet. My room was clean all round, with the one exception that the mat and slippers provided looked like they needed replacing - either too worn or dirty or both. The bed was perfectly comfortable. Wifi was mostly ok, TV was annoying as it kept needing rebooting. The airconditioning, on 16, could barely cool the room and was noisy. The fridge was barely cool, not cold. Points to plug in were few and far between. There was no hot water in my shower. I mentioned this at reception and they said, "Oh sorry, we will look into it" I got the impression they were aware of this issue and needless to say, no hot water appeared. The toilet seat was loose on one side and the sink dripped when I used it. There's a room safe but it was way too small to leave my laptop in and is not secured, so it would be pretty easy for someone to make off with the whole safe...in theory, ok, maybe that's unlikely, but... Breakfast was less than appealing. To be honest, after I tasted the coffee, which was the worst I have ever tasted, I could not bring myself to eat the food, so I don't know if it was better than it looked. I did taste the bread and it was not nice. The water in my room also was very questionable - the free stuff. I opened one bottle and chugged half of it because I was really thirsty, then realised it smelt like old socks! I had booked 4 nights non-refundable and I felt so uncomfortable that I left after the second night and paid to go somewhere else. Even though apparently I would have been able to watch the Dragon Bridge show from the rooftop.

The room is clean. The bed is ok but pillows are soft. Have a big spacious shower area. However, there is no space around the sink to put your toiletries. Have a good view of Han River and the Dragon Bridge from our room window. The location is great! Han River is just across the road. There are many spas and gift/souvenir shops around the hotel. There are also eateries, Han Market, Cham Sculpture Museum and Dragon Bridge, all also within walking distance. There is a construction going on next to the hotel though. But the noise is not very loud.
