Check in was a breeze and I was swiftly shown to my ground floor room, window facing the parking which turned out to be a bit noisy but there were no pool facing rooms available as the hotel was fully booked.
The room was well equipped, WiFi kicked in promptly and with the tea and coffee facility available, including mineral water, did I settle down over a cup of tea.
When using the bathroom later was hot water coming through the pipes after a short while and with enough pressure, though I had to use the bath tub to shower.
With one restaurant, where all meals of the day were served, I headed there for dinner and opted for an a la carte meal instead of the buffet. The service was perhaps a bit slow but when the food came it was well presented and plenty on my plate.
Breakfast is a buffet set up with an active cooking station for egg orders and while the variety of cheeses and cold cuts was not too large it was sufficient, as was the selection of fruits and other hot dishes
The bed was definitely Holiday Inn standard, good quality as well as the duvet and pillows.
One of the evenings I was there I tried the buffet and enjoyed it but otherwise opted for my choice from the menu.
While staying I suffered from a severe cold and the dining room staff were most helpful to prepare for me a mixture of lemon, chopped ginger and honey which I took every day during my stay and it really helped a lot.
I must commend the friendliness of all the staff I encountered, from room steward / house keeping to dining room to reception.
My in-room tea bags and creamer were replaced in plenty as was my water, so compliments to the staff concerned, whose name was Sharleen.
I enjoyed my stay after previously staying at the Rainbow twice during past visits. Service and food presentation at the Holiday Inn proved superior!
