Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral. Sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Sogar mit einer Nespresso Maschine und Kaffekapseln. Auch die Waschmaschine mit Trockner war sehr hilfreich. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön im japanischen Stil eingerichtet. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

The host of this accommodation was very wonderful and kind, which made our experience of being in kyoto. The beds were very comfortable, the place was spacious and maintained a traditional japanese house. Thank you very much for the wonderful stay and hope to return one day! This place was also in a good location, very close to shops in the gioon district and yakasa shrine.

What a gem!! We stayed for 4 days. Had to readjust our arrival and departure date at last minute due to typhoon Shanshan☹️. They even refunded our last day stay without asking as we had to leave a day earlier due to approaching typhoon.We arrived at midnight by train and the manager met us on site to welcome us and explain everything. Having a washer and dryer in one machine on site saved us! We would do a load of laundry every night and in the morning have clean clothes. Saved a lot of time when we got home as all clothes were clean and we did not have to do multiple loads of laundry. Place was clean, quit yet close to a bus stop and shops. Super responsive by Whatsapp to any request. Daily house cleaning. Would highly recommend. Keep up the good work! Loved your hospitality and your beautiful country😀😀

We are very grateful for a wonderful stay, the best service we have ever received, and the most luxurious and elegantly designed house we have seen in the area over years of experience. We had a truly wonderful time in such a relaxing place. One of us, my father, is an architect, and i really appreciated the attention to detail in the design of the house, which was clearly created with a deep understanding of the local tradition and culture, and interpreted with consideration for modern needs and all the services available for travelers, both for professionals and families. We have been using airbnb accommodations for a long time, and i must say that we are now quite picky about our accommodations. Every detail breathes like relaxed japanese philosophy, much in the spirit of a local philosopher, kitaro nishida, who once lived nearby. I cant imagine booking anywhere else than with shimaya stays. To be honest, i am even afraid to give too good reviews right now, so that we wont be able to stay there again if it becomes too popular, once everyone learns how good they are compared to any kind of competition in the area. Perhaps this cant be helped, as such a perl is bound to be discovered and adored by many. I must admit this review is a fabricated one at this point, being so frank about this review, but the entire team, from the design to every service, really deserves it! See you soon!.

This place is highly recommended for travelers who want to travel alone. You get more for your money. It should be the ideal location in kyoto to enjoy sakura in kyoto because it is situated in the heart of higashiyama!.

Saya telah tinggal di sini untuk waktu yang lama dan memiliki semua yang saya butuhkan untuk kehidupan sehari-hari, jadi saya mendapatkan pengalaman menginap yang sangat nyaman. Staf sangat baik dan sopan. Lokasinya bagus dan ada minimarket, supermarket, dan halte bus di dekatnya, jadi nyaman. Saya bersenang-senang di Machiya di Kyoto.

We were blown away by this place. With two small children in tow, it has been extremely difficult to get around kyoto, and this place was our haven of comfort! The finishings were impeccable, it was very comfortable, and we had a great rest and the kids loved it. One thing to note, as with japanese culture, they are very prompt. Check out time is 11 am without deviation and the only thing i would change about this place is to have blackout shades in the sleeping rooms. Or wear an eye patch to sleep. The sun was up very early and the japanese paper windows let it in, waking all of us up quite early or earlier than we would have liked. The location is amazing, you can walk everywhere in gion if thats where you are.

Untuk tarif kamar mulai JPY 6.000 hingga kurang dari JPY 20.000: JPY 400
Untuk tarif kamar mulai JPY 20.000 hingga kurang dari JPY 50.000: JPY 1.000
Untuk tarif kamar mulai JPY 50.000 hingga kurang dari JPY 100.000: JPY 4.000
