Due to the COVID-19 situation around the world, requests for airline passenger funds have increased significantly. Fund processing takes longer than usual.

Special Protocol

Before you travel, make sure you have checked and prepared travel requirements, such as a COVID-19 free certificate, visa suspension & quarantine rules at origin, transit/connection, and destination.

  • From 24 December 2020, Abu Dhabi will reopen to tourists with a number of health regulations and protocols that must be followed. You will be exempt from quarantine if you are traveling from the selected countries. 
  • COVID-19 PCR testing is mandatory before every flight. Depending on where you are flying to or from, your test must be carried out between 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your flight departure time. 
  • Children under 12 and people of determination are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing.

Refund

Passengers can request a full refund in cash if the flight date is on/after October 1, 2020, and has the following situations:

  • Cancellation by the airline (all routes apply)
  • The passenger tested positive for Covid-19 based on the results of the PCR-test carried out in accordance with state regulations (48-96 hours before departure)
  • There is a travel ban from the local government so you cannot travel. Submit a maximum of 14 days before the date of departure


There are also ticket conditions that can be submitted aside from the provisions above as follows:

 

  • Applicable to travel originating from all other countries
  • Refund request will be processed only after 12 months from the date of the first cancelled flight from the airline
  • If the flight was not cancelled by the airline, refund rules of the original ticket will apply
  • For refund request after 12 months is applicable to Open Ticket type only
  • Only the value of the unused ticket portion will be refunded
  • No show fee applies when the passenger(s) books themselves on a flight which operates and is a no show

 

 

Open Ticket

The conditions for submitting an Open Ticket are as follows:

  • Submission should be done before 31 May 2022.

  • Rescheduling conditions are subject to each airline policy and availability

 

Reroute

  • Submitting a re-route can be done while using the same airline
  • Submissions are made at the related airlines
  • Reroute/change fee will be waived
  • Fare differences and other additional charges (e.g. applicable taxes) may apply
