However, passengers are still encouraged to wear a mask in public areas and to practice social distancing.

Here are some other COVID-19 related requirements for travelers to Qatar:

  • All passengers must complete an online health declaration form before arrival.
  • All passengesr must download and activate the Ehteraz app on their phone. This app tracks their movements and health status and is required to enter certain places in Qatar, such as malls and restaurants.
  • Passengers from certain countries may be subject to additional requirements, such as quarantine. Please check on the latest requirements on the Qatar Ministry of Public Health website.

Transit Requirements

Here are the transit requirements at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in 2023:

  • Passport: Passengers must possess a valid passport that remains valid for a minimum of 6 months from their arrival date in Qatar.
  • Visa: If passengers are not citizens of one of the 95 countries that are exempt from transit visa requirements, they will need to acquire a transit visa. The application for a transit visa can be submitted online or at the HIA visa application center.
  • Airline ticket: Passengers must hold a confirmed airline ticket for their onward flight.
  • Health declaration form: Passengers are obligated to complete an online health declaration form prior to their arrival.
  • Ehteraz app: Passengers are required to download and activate the Ehteraz app on their mobile devices. This application monitors their movements and health condition and is essential for accessing certain establishments in Qatar, including malls and restaurants.

If passengers are transiting through Doha without exiting the airport, they are not obligated to present a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of vaccination. Nevertheless, it is strongly recommended that passengers wear masks in public areas and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Updates:

Starting from January 4, 2023, transit passengers who have no intention of exiting the airport terminal are not obligated to obtain a Transit Visa and are exempted from the requirement of pre-travel registration with Ehteraz.
