Tokyo International Airport (Haneda)
General Requirement
As of May 8, 2023, Japan has fully lifted all COVID-19 related entry restrictions and returned to normal immigration rules. This includes the removal of the daily entry cap for foreign arrivals. All usual visa exemptions are now applicable to eligible visitors, allowing citizens of approximately 70 countries, such as Australia, the United States, and all European Union nations, to once again travel to Japan visa-free for up to 90 days by presenting a valid passport.
- For passengers who are not citizens of a country exempt from visas, a visa is required to visit Japan.
- It is important to ensure that a valid passport and any other required documents are obtained prior to entering the country.
- If a passenger possesses an e-Passport, they can utilize the Electronic Customs Declaration Gates (e-Gates) upon arrival in Japan to complete the border control process.
