Here are some exceptions to the 24-hour transit time limit:

  • Children under the age of 18 who are traveling alone are allowed to transit for up to 48 hours without a transit visa.
  • Passengers who are transiting through Melbourne on a connecting flight operated by the same airline are allowed to transit for up to 48 hours without a transit visa.
  • Passengers who are transiting through Melbourne on a connecting flight operated by different airlines are allowed to transit for up to 72 hours without a transit visa.
