Effective 9 January 2023, passengers from China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong (SAR China) or Macao (SAR China) in the past 14 days must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated. The vaccination certificate must be in English or Spanish. This does not apply to:
nationals and residents of Costa Rica;
passengers < 12 years.
Passengers entering Costa Rica must have travel insurance to cover COVID-19 expenses and accommodation costs valid for the period of their intended stay.
A COVID-19 vaccination certificate, in English or Spanish, shows that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.
Vaccines accepted are AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
