Entry Restrictions

Only fully vaccinated passengers can enter Ghana.

Additional Entry Requirements

 

  • Effective 6 January 2023, passengers entering or transiting through Ghana  whose first embarkation point is China (People's Rep.) must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. This does not apply for passengers <18 years old. 
  • Passengers must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm (BIBP), Sinovac and Sputnik V.
  • Non-fully vaccinated passengers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must have been taken by an approved laboratory at most 2x24 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The test result must have a QR code obtained here or here. This does not apply to:
    • nationals and residents of Ghana returning within one week;  
    • passengers < 18 years old. 
  • Passengers must complete a Port Health Declaration Form before departure here.  
  • Passengers can be subjected to medical screening upon arrival. 

Quarantine Policy

 

  • Passengers are subject to medical screening.
    • If the result is positive, the passenger may be subject to quarantine for 7 days at their own expense.
