Originally established in 1998, Argo Dwipangga is an executive and luxury class train service running to and from Jakarta and Solo, also known as Surakarta. Currently, it only offers seats in the two classes mentioned above, making it one of the most comfortable and luxurious trains to travel on during one’s stay in Indonesia. The luxury class offers seats that can be reclined up to 180 degrees, making it a sleeper class within the train. 

 

Argo Dwipangga trains have recently received an overhaul in 2023, with changes such as upgrades to the carriages’ windows to further block out noise and UV light. Other additions include USB charging ports and new toilets for the Luxury class carriages. The dining car has also been refurbished to add more comfortable seating and inviting decor. Aside from these changes, Argo Dwipangga also stops at major cities such as Yogyakarta and Cirebon, making it an optimal choice for those opting for rail travel throughout Jakarta.
