The Eurail Portugal Pass is a convenient train pass that gives non-European travelers access to Portugal’s national rail network. It allows unlimited travel on valid days throughout the country on regional and intercity trains operated by Comboios de Portugal (CP). Passes are available for 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 travel days within 1 month.

How to Activate Your Eurail Pass

You can activate your pass there in 3 easy steps before boarding your first train:
- Add a new mobile pass. Enter your last name and pass number from your voucher
- Create and connect a trip to this pass
- Enter your ID number and trip start date. You can skip this step if you are not ready to travel
Remember, you can activate your pass up to 11 months from the date of purchase
How to travel with your Eurail Pass
- Plan your journey: Use the Eurail Rail Planner app to find train times and check if reservations are required. Tap on a trip for details and use the "Options" button to filter your options
- Save to My Trip: After finding your ideal train journey, tap to save it to My Trip. You can save multiple journeys for easier travel to multiple destinations. Note: Some trips require reservation fees (not included in the pass price)
- Add to My Trip: When ready to travel, go to "My Trip" and tap to add your journey to your pass
- Show your ticket: Board trains by showing your QR code ticket to inspectors. Each travel day on your Pass has a unique QR code that corresponds to journeys saved in steps 2 and 3. To show your QR code ticket, go to "My Pass" and tap "Show ticket."
