After showcasing heroes in 2023 & 2024, this year's Sabang Merauke Performance takes on the theme “Hikayat Nusantara”, exploring the narrative heritage of various regions - the folk tales that shape our collective imagination on a stage as vast as the Indonesia Arena, Senayan.
This performance features 5 legends of the archipelago taken from various regions in Indonesia, 26 regional and national songs, cultural to contemporary choreography from Sabang to Merauke, and magnificent, spectacular, and modern Indonesian regional and ethnic clothing and culture.
There are more than 10 national singers, Yura Yunita and the band PADI Reborn, 351 dancers from all over Indonesia, and festively combined with Barongsai Kong Ha Hong attractions, Cheerleaders, Shang Aerial Show, Cheerleaders, and marching bands.
Hikayat Nusantara is also presented by 100 modern and traditional musicians, including the Jakarta Concert Orchestra combined with the sounds of the Batavia Madrigal Singers. This year's performance is even more lively with the presence of costumes from Pesona Gondanglegi and Jember Fashion Carnaval.
