An excellent way to spend an evening in Kyoto and a great way to get used to some of the Japanese food/bar scene and socialize with other tourists. Typical group size is around 10 people and they brought us through three different types of bars, each a short walk from the other. our guide Taiga was excellent and gave us some insight into Japanese culture both at the bars when going over how to cheers in Japanese at our izakaya, the significance of different types of sake at the sake bar, and the meaning behind some of the Japanese tori gates and tanuki statues you see around kyoto. we finished the night at a music themed izakaya and most of our group stayed many hours after the tour concluded. Be wary of planning early morning events following the crawl, but definitely try this out if you like food, drinks, or meeting new people.

This was one of my favorite activities my entire trip! We started at a local Izakaya, moved to a sake tasting lounge, and then ended at a small local bar with amazing whiskey and the nicest owners ever (I had to go back the night after)! Our guide Taiga was the best! He was very fun and was happy to answer any questions we had :) Even with a larger sized group, we were able to make many new friends and Taiga made sure everyone was attended to the entire night. I would HIGHLY recommend trying this, especially if you want to see some hidden gems!

I had a great time on this tour. As a solo traveler and newcomer to Kyoto, this was the perfect way to fill my night. Our guide, Taiga was a great host! Besides showing us around to different bars, he shared his insights on the different sake, beers, and cocktails available. And his friendly demeanor helped turn a group of strangers into fast friends. Highly recommended!
