AK GO TOUR & TRAVEL communicated with us about the tour guide’s information with email before our trip. Mr A Lu our tour guide also communicated with us via WhatsApp the night before. The van is new and comfortable with good air conditioning. Mr A Lu speaks Chinese well (fluent in mandarin and speaks a little Cantonese too) and brief us about the history behind the ruins of ancient Thailands capital Ayutthaya. He helped us take a lot of group photos. The driver was friendly. They followed the itinerary well. Thanks to them, we had a great tour. (Just that it’s a little bit expensive but anyways we had a private tour from hotel to ayutthaya and back)

I was looking everywhere for a reasonably priced private tour of Ayutthaya since we wamted to have our bags with us for onward travel to Chiang Mai that evening. This tour, which was priced per group, was far cheaper than other options on Viator that are priced per person. While not a luxury tour, the van was comfortable and air conditioned, and the driving was very good. Since we did not want to go to back to Bangkok, they were able to bring us directly to the Ayutthaya train station after the tour was over. Yimm, our guide, was excellent. She had a very good knowledge of the history of Thailand, and was able to explain to us how the different temples in Ayutthaya related to different periods of Thai history, as well as conflicts with the Khmer and Burmese. She also explained many Buddhist practices as we saw them. The lunch recommendation was an excellent place (Michelin recommended) serving a regional noodle dish, and Yimm also introduced us to a local cotton candy dessert.

The half-day tour is practical and feasible for short-term travelers. The guide Walin of SST Global is very skillful, fluent in English and friendly. He is also a good photographer and helpful to tourists.

Description

Ayutthaya, the second capital city of Siam and a prosperous international trading port. The ruins of the old city now form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that contains palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries and statues.

Visit Wat Mahathat, a royal monastery with a Buddha statue enshrined in a stupa through work Jinshin sarira.

Head to Wat Lokayasutharam, located behind the Royal Palace, to see the 42m giant reclining Buddha statue.

Take a long tail boat in Pasak River. (For safety reasons, night operation is not operated, Boat times may change depending on the season there is.)

See Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a Khmer style temple built by King Phrasat for his mother. Said to have been built as a model of Angkor Wat.
