In all honesty, the location is a beautiful rustic spot with stunning trees and plants, ornament, and attention to detail. You are surrounded by nature and natural materials, and all of it is very welcoming! We had the pleasure of staying in the chalet as well as on the camp site with friends. The only annoying aspect were the hundreds of mosquitoes in the room, if only the cleaning staff could spray the rooms before we checked in. Then spray once more after they prepped the rooms again. The mosquito net was helpful, but not when you needed to leave and enter the room all day. At one point, the bar didn't have ice for our drinks and no lemonade for rock malawi shandy. The English breakfast took 65 minutes to prepare at the restaurant, which was far too long if you wake up hungry and look forward to the first meal of the day. I would return again, but better prepared with insect spray. The guinea fowl roaming the area are a nice sight, but they will wake you up very early in the morning. Again, I will visit once more for sure!.

Overall, highly recommended and well worth a visit! I had a few days of hiking to complete and wasn't looking forward to it because I usually stay in gabs and had no idea what to anticipate, but WOW, this place is fantastic! A lovely gem of a lodge in the middle of nowhere. Very clean, great staff, delicious food, and, most importantly, a steady supply of cold beer. Excellent room as well, with good wifi coverage.

This place is excellent. We stayed at Phokoje bush lodge for one night. On our return we booked a room, which was a great alternative. The clean camp and well-equipped bathroom are all included. All kinds of accommodation can be highly recommended.

I'm so grateful we found this lodging because our large group couldn't drive to our prearranged lodging in the dark due to elephants, donkeys, cows, and other animals on the road, and we were stuck at the border post and new. The waitress, restaurant workers, the man at the gate, and all the others who assisted us to get comfortable, particularly when the storm came and we didn't know which side of the lodging to go because it was all the same, apologies for forgetting names at the desk and all the personnel was very helpful. We stayed one night here, but we could stay if needed. The staff was so accommodating, especially on the road and at the border crossings. During the winter of 2019, it was also February, so it was busy on the roads and the border crossing. A few ladies in our party were hugging so much!.

Ive stayed a couple of times over the years. Excellent place to stay on the outskirts of a hike. Rondavels are good certainly not modern but comfortable. Parking outside the rondavel is very convenient. Guinea pigs and peacocks walking around are great for kids good date to channels wifi awful restaurant and bar very pleasant. Breakfast not included in the room price. The staff are absolutely firstclass. The best place to stay on a hike.
