Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!

Beautiful grounds, great family who owns it, nice breakfast. You need to have a car to get around

Fun spot. Good location. Great staff. Bathroom shower had a dangerously long drop to get in and out. Bedroom was very cramped.

Very nice coupel which is having this place, very personal and seems to be in the middle of the jungle. In the night you can here all the mystic sounds of the jungle when standing on the patio in front of the room. Typical breakfast, very tasty. Good to make trips to el arenal or the therm baldi. You need a car though.

We stayed four nights here. It is our first time in Costa Rica and we wanted to see Arenal. We rented a car and after three days on the coast needed a break from the sun and tourists. This place is AMAZING. Plenty of plants and bird watching. Quiet and friendly owners. It is a wonderful sanctuary away from the craziness that comes with staying in a touristy place. The drive to la Fortuna is 15 min away, and another 15 to the park, waterfalls and butterfly sanctuary. It comes with a kitchen to cook if you like and a huge garden to explore that the owner has spent his life perfecting. Totally recommend, you won't be disappointed.

The hosts are extremely nice. The cabinas are very confortable. We have really appreciated the kitchnette, in the middle of our road trip. Their is a nice set of trails to be walked behind the botanical garden. Great small hike in the secondary forest for kids. The pool is beautiful. The hostel is less than 10 miles from La Fortuna. A car is recommended to stay here.

Podría mejorar el aseo, pero en general es una buena opción calidad/precio

The staff were great. I booked via Expedia, and the check-in process could not have been easier. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. It was in a nice location, away from the hustle and touristy bustle of La Fortuna but a short drive to all attractions. The gardens were beautiful. They did not offer breakfast and there were no fancy amenities, but, especially for the price, it is a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous view, swimming pool, pretty yard, nice owner/people, cabins are kind of rough though. We like to hang around by the pool in the afternoon and watch toucans, parakeet, humming birds, and other colorful birds. Gorgeous view of the forest!

We stayed in a small bungalow with a kitchenette. I would call this glamping...like a decent camping cabin. The showers were only warm sometimes. The toilet seat was broken. They charged $15 for 1 load of laundry but wouldn't tell us up front how much it would be. The gardens were beautiful and fun to wander around.

Nice surroundings. Bed was uncomfortable, no hot water and too noisy at night.

La ubicación no es la ideal. El cuarto limpio pero muy ruidoso de noche por el sistema de agua y puertas del lugar. La iluminación no fue la mejor.

Absolutely terrible stay. Stayed at the main house. This place is plagued with bed bugs, mosquitoes, and ants crawling through the walls. All of our family had bites and rashes all over. Had rodent droppings show up each day of our stay. Every morning we were greeted by dead bugs on the floor. The internet and hot water were nonexistent. Shower was leaking into the bedroom. Can’t turn on the lights at night otherwise you’ll be under a bug attack. Had a cricket the size of a small cat show up in the hallway. Trash wasn’t cleared once in 4 days. To top it off, a power outage left us in the dark with no AC, and no one from the staff was there to help. Guy in the reception was rude and disgusting, told us the owner doesn’t speak English and will not help us, since this is all expected as the property is “located in the middle of nature”. Complete rip-off—avoid at all costs. Explained everything to Expedia, but they did nothing about it. Do yourself a favor and DON’T stay here, it’s a nightmare stay.

Very terrible experience. Daniel the front desk boy very immature and unprofessional. We are charged extra cash for the children even though it was clearly mentioned that we will be arriving with kids. We stayed 2 nights. 2nd night lights went out whole night and they do not have anything back up. Hot, bugs We only know how we spend that night. They have liquid hand soap for hair body. No coffee or coffee maker. I will not suggest this property. This property loots you. Never book this property.
