This is not necessarily in a bad way, but this is a hut like kaya. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The porch is right on the edge of the cliff, and it provides a fantastic view and can be quite peaceful. A supermarket with everything you could want is very close by. The shower is hot, the toilet flushes, and the sink and stove work. It is like a cabin in the woods. If it wasn't on the edge of a cliff on the sea, I wouldn't stay here. But that's the charm. Dogs barking incessantly, roosters crowing, mule doing whatever a mule does. And the insane number of pigs kept in a small cage. It's more like a cottage on a small farm with three small attached apartments. But once you get past all of that.. It's very relaxing. Hang out on the hammock, eat on the edge of the cliff, play cards, buy some citronella, and relax. Visit the turks' steps for a minute then just hang out. There is no wifi or cell service, unless you go walking near the main house where the dogs will bark, quite a lot. It's not the most clean area of Sicily, as I said, it'

It's in a good location, next to the ocean. Owners are friendly, the pool is nice, the beach is private and the environment is full of animals, tu cuddledogs, puppies, donkeys, cats and tiny pigs. We highly recommend it.

The location has the appearance of a desert island farm! Our rooms and apartments were in a very traditional looking structure, but the interior decoration was much more polished. Our bedroom opened to a terrace with the most incredible views of the bay. There is a very nice swimming pool area and access to a private beach. There are also a horse, donkey and dirt tracks. The place is remote and you won't be popping out for supper. Either selfcatering in your flat or dining in a nearby tavern. We did the latter and what a treat! Our entire sicilian trip here had the best fish antipasto. Despite the rustic resort's rustic character, the food was out of this world. Tasted fantastic and beautifully presented. The chef then ate a fish that morning. Perfect dinner in an idyllic location. How to locate it? There is no precise address on the satnav. Once in realmonte, head to the village commune da or da parole. You will wind around the countryside for a while, but once you reach the sprawling community of parole, you will notice signs for the republic some are brown tourist signs, others are red paint on a wall.

My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was the perfect relaxing holiday. The location is not fancy but has it's own charm, very rural with lots of dogs, cats, birds, two pigs and a donkey. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the lady was great cook! Definitely go for supper when you stay at this place.
