Had a delux queen room. Room came with a refrigerator which was a surprise because it wasn't listed as having one. Great view of the valley from balcony.Short walk to main lodge where there was a restaurant.

Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. A quick drive along Skyline Drive will bring you to several other iconic hikes of all difficulty levels, and many excellent views right from the road. Watching the fog roll up the mountains and through the trees around the lodge is magical. The one thing to be aware of is that the bathrooms are pretty basic and the water pressure is meh. But the ambiance and location can't be beat.

Really cool old school full of History area to stay in the Shenandoah National Park. Feels great to be immersed in nature. Nice little Lodge area with overlook. A few small downsides... Person at front desk wouldn't change our room so that we could stay another night even though they had plenty of rooms available open for two nights. They said it was because I booked on Expedia. But this sounds like it's just red tape nonsense. Just help the person in front of you and forget about the he computer. Also wouldn't allow us to purchase bottled water even though there was a fridge with water right in front of us because it wasn't the right time of day. Ridiculous.

The staff and everyone was incredibly helpful, the food in the dining room was delicious for all 3 meals, our room was cozy and comfortable, a great stay all around. Only complaint is the small shower head, but that’s ok, it was still an amazing stay, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

We love Shenandoah National Park and Big Meadows. We like the convenience of staying in the park. The lodge is very dog friendly which is nice since we travel with the dog. We have never visited this late in the season, so we didn’t hike. The visitor center was closed due to government shut down. I would classify the lodge as rustic. Room was comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park. The lodge has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and our room was clean and comfortable. A couple of areas could be improved: (1) better sound insulation between rooms, as we could hear noise from neighboring guests (TVs, conversations, etc.), and (2) quicker service in the restaurant. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

Great location for many hikes! The property was built I think about 60years ago, but for hiking and camping resort, it is great!

Right in the middle of the park. Wonderful location. Rooms perfect - particularly as there is no TV.

Absolutely one of the best meals ever. I am an avid cook and must commend the chef for the perfectly cooked trout, fluffy quinoa, FRESH steamed spinach appreciated and green been cooked to perfection, as well as the delicious lemon/butter sauce. Delicious!!!!

It is rustic but so perfect for the area. Good food in the dinning room, clean room, beds were good. Just a sweet place to step back in time and slow down. Look forward to visiting again!
