We stayed in the lower motor lodge. It has a beautiful view of the river. The room was very clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The room had been recently remodeled. The staff were very friendly. It was not a fancy $$$ place but it was perfect for our needs.

It appears that the room I had was brand new. It was clean and well appointed although missing small things like note paper and a pen. The shower was lovely once I got the water turned on. The handle was very stiff. I had thought we would have a view of the river but that was the other motel unit. It was nice and quiet so good for sleeping.

Warm and welcoming staff that carefully explained how to use the keys. We stayed for one night in the main house for a fourth of July wedding. Found the room and king bed charming and well appointed, with a view overlooking the bay. The private bathroom with walk in shower was absolutely sparking clean and modern. With fantastic water pressure to boot! There was an air conditioning unit in the bedroom that kept the room wonderfully cool and created just the right level of white noise. The bedding and pillows were comfortable… it was a nice little getaway. We did not try the breakfast but it looked and smelled wonderful.

The Castle Manor Inn is a charming, family-owned property in a beautiful location with a gorgeous view of the Anasquam River. I had a last minute booking and got the last available room in the motel extension. At first I was disappointed not to get to stay in the beautiful Victorian house, but the motel is perched above the river and had a lovely view from the room and a private, covered area to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful summer evening with the sounds of birds and spring peepers, so the motel has its advantages! The AC kept the room nice and cool, and I was able to walk down to a restaurant on the marina for a wonderful seafood meal. The owner was so kind and friendly and gave me great local recommendations. It felt good to stay in a family-owned establishment where the owners take great pride in their inn and their community and genuinely enjoy interacting with their guests. The price was reasonable even as a last minute booking in the busy season. A great placed to stay all around!

I emailed to advise this and not only did I receive excellent details via email, John also telephoned me upon arrival in the US to ensure I had everything I needed. Excellent customer service . All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. John at the front desk was amazing! He provided us with insider’s knowledge as to what and how to visit in Gloucester and Rockport. The West Wing room and bath were modern, clean and quiet. Parking right in front of the room- very accessible. We decided to turn off the room air and open the window (which looked like it hadn’t been open in a few years). Still nice breeze. Downtown is little too far to walk, but plenty of parking near restaurants and the harbor. Next time we might reserve a room in the manor!
