Clean and comfortable accomodation close to The Rocks, Circular Quay and transport. We stayed during Vivid so the area was busy until about 11pm each night but got quiet after this and is a lovely quiet area in the morning. Rooms were clean and comfy, with a few creature comfort and reasonably priced per night. Lots of stairs to walk up to get to the accommodation areas (being an older building there is no lift) so not suited if you have mobility issues. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

The room was basic, but nice for what it was. It could have been maintained a little better, as in a light clove needing replacing and the AC not working as required, but the building is nearly 200 years old, so it has charm.

The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel is a superb historic pub in an old stone building in the Rocks neighborhood of Sydney just near Circular Quay 1 km and the southern end of Sydney harbour bridge. Often when walking in the area, you will get great views of the Bridge. Barangaroo Metro station is 400m walk away. Use the lifts in the culture center just as you exit the metro and 100m away, slightly left. Connects to airport via Central station. The king bed room with ensuite bathroom had stone interior walls, which is very special. The room was basic, but very comfortable. You get character and location in spades. The pub downstairs has excellent craft beers made by their own brewmaster, and the pub food and atmosphere is amazing. A no-brainer!!!

We had a brilliant stay at the Lord Nelson. Beautiful building and history. Great pub on the ground floor. Great room, we were lucky to have a beautiful view of the skyline from our room. There is no elevator in the property. This was fine for us, but for those with mobility issues, stairs are the only way up. 10 minutes walk to the international cruise ship terminal. Would happily book here again.

The hotel is the oldest in Sydney, built in 1841, which is really cool. That being said, it does mean the building reflects its age a bit. It’s well cared for, but there is no elevator, which can make things difficult with luggage. I was helped by staff when I checked in, but not when I checked out as it was early in the morning so it took me several trips up and down the stairs from the third floor. The rooms are nice, but basic, the bathrooms are large, and the price is reasonable. It’s also in easy walking distance from the opera house and harbor, which was very convenient. The staff was wonderful, especially Harry and Saskia. Overall, I’d stay here again.

Super cute, located over a pub full of just happy great people, that all went home by ten. The location is perfect for walking nearly anywhere. Were the beds not rock hard it would have had 5 stars all the way.
