The Planeta Hotel is a three–star urban hotel located in the historical center of Minsk. The convenient location and good transport accessibility make the hotel ideal for both businessmen and tourists who want to enjoy their holidays and explore the sights of Minsk. In the vicinity of the hotel you can find not only historical monuments such as the Upper and Lower Town, the Trinity Suburb and the Cathedral, but also modern iconic objects, including the Minsk Arena. The windows offer panoramic views of the famous Minsk Hero City obelisk and the Motherland sculpture, the green park and the peaceful expanse of the Svisloch River. The Planeta Hotel traces its history back to the days of the existence of Goskominturist (the All-Union Joint-Stock Company for Foreign Tourism in the USSR Intourist). It was built for the XXII Summer Olympic Games held in Moscow in 1980. At that time, the hotel network in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Minsk and Tallinn was significantly expanded to accommodate more than 300,000 Olympic guests. Architects who designed the hotel: Benediktov G., Nacharov V., Romanovskaya T. Today, the Planeta Hotel is not only a comfortable environment for city guests to stay in, it is an example of late Soviet modernist architecture. It is part of the architectural ensemble of Pobediteley Avenue. The building of the avenue is an architectural, historical and archaeological monument, and the Planeta Hotel itself is an architectural and historical monument. In 2025, the Planeta Hotel celebrated its 45th anniversary. The hotels decoration was made by professional artists, members of the Union of Artists of Belarus, whose work is in the collections of the countrys leading museums, including the National Art Museum of the Republic.: Kuznetsov E.I., Katkova S.S., Bayrachny N.I., Prieshkin V.G.
